Survivor 6: The Amazon
Posted on 02/11/2003 4:56:24 AM PST by cuz_it_aint_their_money
Well, Im back.
Sort of.
My wife, (the lovely and gracious, Mrs. CUZ) has laid down the law!
Youre spending too much time FReeping and not enough time paying attention to me!
Women! Go figure!
Anyway, my FReeping has been severely curtailed, so Ill start this thread, and from time to time, spout off with my two cents worth, but someone else will have to maintain the ping list and post weekly recaps (If they feel so inclined).
If someone wants the ping list, FReepmail me and Ill send it to them.
Till then,
Enjoy,

Great analysis Lee! The bathing scene sure was an attention-getter. Would've been better with a little more meat on their bones, but hey it's Survivor.
I see where you're coming from on the guys/gals thing, I really do. It is a bit sophomoric at times. But, for some reason, this time around seems much more interesting than the last few editions.
Take care!!

Thanks. Like I said, it started out real well, to me. I like the girls vs boys idea. But the "Dating Game" junk has got to go. This wouldn't be happening if there weren't SO many younger/single people. It's like Jeff P. set it up that way. Still, I'm hoping the show will diminish that aspect and it will rise back to the level it started at.

"The smartest thing they did, was sit down, have a meeting, and push a leader forward. Like it or not, you cannot default to group decisions/discussions on everything you do. Just not efficient." That's something along the lines of what our founding fathers were thinking when they developed our Representative Republic and shunned a pure democracy. Mob rule just doesn't work when the mob keeps killing off the smartest guy - all you are left with is a stew of idiots.

Actually, if you read about Deena she sounds like a conservative woman. I know she's a Christian. Her favorite book is the Bible.
She's a DA, and this is a quote from her Bio at the CBS site:
"If you hurt, abuse or kill a child, then I am your worst nightmare. Criminal prosecution is my game, protecting the innocent is my aim."
She's also most proud of being a mom.
I don't think she's a feminazi, and she is my current pick for the ultimate survivor. Okay, she's my favorite, but I'm afraid she'll be eliminated.

I noticed that the music is very upbeat this time. I think more so than the past.
Last season, they just had a lot of negative personalities. This season, they have a lot of fun personalities. I think Rob is a jerk, but he is funny. I also think Christy has a lot of personality.

Very bad night to post. I think I managed to post twice and then decided not to fight it any more.
Is it just me or is team Testosterone getting a little sex obsessed?
At first I wanted the old switch-a-roo quickly but now I am finding it quite interesting to see how separating the sexes is producing changes in the group.
Interesting side note, up until this point in Survivor there have been no women leaders. They have either lone wolfed it (maybe one partner) or followed the guys lead.
By forcing the women to lead and the men to bond to survive this could change.

Did you notice how the women tried to pick a leader and no one wanted it......I think every tribe needs a leader..someone to delegate the work, only thing is they set themselves up to be voted off eventually.

"The higher you are up the ladder the easier it is for others to take potshots at you." That was what they were thinking.
What a bunch of whimps! I prefer "No guts no glory"
Deena might be able to bring it off, maybe. I hope she has read a few John Maxwell books!

I think Deena is a good choic..they certainly need someone..they are so disorganized in their camp.
It's a no win job....
Pretty boring tonight!

The players:
Team Testosterone: Alex, Butch, Dave, Matthew, Rob, Roger
Team Estrogen: Christy, Deena, Heidi, Jeanne, Jenna, Joanna, Shawna
The Losers: Ryan, Janet, Daniel
Good Morning Fellow Survivor Junkies
Woooo-Hoooo! Three for Three! Im on a roll now!
The drama continues over at the Team Estrogen camp.
Even though the gals elected suckered Deena into the roll of Leader, (which she reluctantly accepted), Joanna insists on being the Drama Queen of Team Estrogen.
Im almost to the point of saying, bring back Ghandia!
Sorry, Joanna, but the cyber-tribe has spoken, Yer outta here! Get thee to a monastery, already!
Meanwhile, over at Team Testosterone, if the guys dont get their minds out of the ladies panties, and back on the game where it belongs then Im afraid they will become a permanent fixture at Tribal Council.
Now it may be too early to tell, but Im gonna go out on a limb here and say that we have our first known Alliance in Alex, Butch, Rob, and Roger. That leaves Dave and Matthew on the outside looking in.
I think they will keep Dave around for comic relief and Matthew will be the next guy to get booted.
OK, there you have Cuzs predictions for episode three:
If Team Estrogen wins the Ugly Idol, Matthew gets the boot.
If Team Testosterone wins the Ugly Idol, Joanna (oh please, please, please) gets the boot.
Well, thats all for this week. Enjoy,
To: cuz_it_aint_their_money
Warning, the start will be delayed tonight because of President Bush's speech/news conference.

Amore,
Thanks for the heads-up regarding the Presidents news conference.
For everybody else, this probably will only effect those of us in the Eastern Time Zone. (And possibly the Central Time Zone.)
Those in the Mountain and Pacific time zones should not be effected.
Anyway,
Enjoy,
To: Lee'sGhost
It's Shawna that whines on the preview.
I hope Matthew gets bounced, or if it's one of the women, it's Heidi.
I'm not predicting, just hoping.
To: cuz_it_aint_their_money
Unless of course your hooked up to a dish, getting an East Coast feed, and are in the habit of wathcing Survivor at 5 instead of 8.
If that's the case, NEVER MIND.
