She has an enourmous capacity for preposterous indignation.

She sounds like every liberal special interest group in the world. The fact of the matter is that the percentage of wimmin interested in joining the NRA is so small that it is not cost effective to solicit them by phone. Financially it makes more sense to skip over them and go for the men.

Now I just want to know why they waste most of what I send them mailing me junk mail asking for more money.

The NRA is offering another magazine specifically for women, and sent me a sample copy. And yes, they do send an emormous amount of crap for fundraising. Fortunately, they only send it to my husband, so we don't both get the stuff. They must at least to name and address matching to avoid duplication. I usually toss their fundraising junk in the trash.

Former U.N. weapons inspector says timing of arrest reports is suspicious

ALBANY, New York - Former U.N. weapons inspector Scott Ritter, a harsh critic of the Bush administration's push toward war with Iraq, suggested that recent news reports of his arrest in an Internet sex sting last year were part of an attempt to silence him.

He said the publicity forced him to cancel a trip to Baghdad, where he said he would have offered an alternative to military action.

Ritter acknowledged his June 2001 arrest in appearances on CNN and Court TV on Wednesday night but said he was prohibited from discussing details because the charges were dismissed and the records sealed.

June 2001 arrest? So was the timing of the arrest suspicious or the timing of the arrest "reports" suspicious? GWB had to deal with the "reports" of a DWI 30 years after the arrest... and two days before a Presidential election.. now THATS suspicious!

Sorry Wings... I thought about you when I saw the story (the distrust of scotty, not the arrest). I always thought he did a 180 because of a threat to his family and friends, and now we find out he was trying to pick up little girls on the internet....
