We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our fredom, die in vain!!
There is a new tact from the anti-war crowd in the news this morning. They are calling for bringing back the draft. Reps Charlie Rangel of New York and John Conyers of Michigan have two complaints: (1) the fighting force of the Nation is composed of too high a level of minorities; and (2) they believe the US would deal with Iraq peacefully if politicians knew their children would be the one's in harms way.
The Supreme Court of California has ruled that it is rape even if sex is started with the consent of both adults, but the female changes her mind after the act has actually started.
Charles Pickering has been renominated by the Bush Administration for a Federal Appellate judgeship.
And there are two new ad spots that has been designed by Arianna Huffington of the Detroit Group which suggests that SUV owners are supporting terrorists. From the New York Times:
"This is George," a girl's voice says of an oblivious man at a gas station. "This is the gas that George bought for his S.U.V." The screen then shows a map of the Middle East. "These are the countries where the executives bought the oil that made the gas that George bought for his S.U.V." The picture switches to a scene of armed terrorists in a desert. "And these are the terrorists who get money from those countries every time George fills up his S.U.V."
A second commercial depicts a series of ordinary Americans saying things like: "I helped hijack an airplane"; "I gave money to a terrorist training camp in a foreign country"; "What if I need to go off-road?"
At the close, the screen is filled with the words: "What is your S.U.V. doing to our national security?"
YET (!!!!), these are the very same folks that do not want us to expand our domestic sources of oil by drilling in ANWR. They should sit down and shut up, because they are hypocrites - each and every one of them. Why? Because it matters not what vehicle you drive, a portion of the fuel can be argued to have come from Saudi Arabia - so they are just as guilty following their line of reasoning.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I think Frist needs to start leading now. There were 2 disturbing reports over the last couple of days that suggest that Frist isn't yet comfortable with the Majority Leader role:
The first one has to do with Senate Committee squabbles. Our ol' buddy
Sen. McCainiac is trying to usurp Inhofe's Environment committee turf by trying to hold hearings about CO2 emissions in his Commerce committee -- and having Lieberman testify!!! Frist needs to set McCain straigt about what his committee is all about.
And the second is silly but is telling about how awkward things are, post-Lott: It turns out that
Lott hasn't moved out of the palatial Majority Leader offices(bottom of page, under 'Senate Squatter'), and has now suggested that Frist simply move the sign down to his office. The Majority Leader meetings have been held in Frist's office, which kinda looks like Frist is afraid of stepping on Empty Lott's toes. The smackdown is appropriate, I would think....

Well, almost everyone has one computer, a lot of people have two, a few have three, but ONLY geeks have 7.
(I cut back to 4 recently, New Year's resolution, dontcha know...)
To: Bitwhacker
Why do geeks insist on having 7 computers??? And here I was thinking all this time it was because there was a custom machine for each day of the week.
To: Bitwhacker
I have a half of one.

Ari Fleischer on Fox now. Campbell Brown wants to know why the Pickering nomination is being resubmitted, and by the way why hasn't the President come out about the Confederate Flag, since he is reaching out to blacks? And even though the South Carolina flag decision is settled, shouldn't he say something mean about the Confederate Flag anyway? (Try to imagine this while she tosses her hair and squirms around in her seat. What a ditz.)
Then Helen Thomas wants to know what went on in the National Security Council meeting this morning, and starts whining about Iraq.
I am trying to listen, but I swear the press is really icky today.
