We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our fredom, die in vain!!
There is a new tact from the anti-war crowd in the news this morning. They are calling for bringing back the draft. Reps Charlie Rangel of New York and John Conyers of Michigan have two complaints: (1) the fighting force of the Nation is composed of too high a level of minorities; and (2) they believe the US would deal with Iraq peacefully if politicians knew their children would be the one's in harms way.
The Supreme Court of California has ruled that it is rape even if sex is started with the consent of both adults, but the female changes her mind after the act has actually started.
Charles Pickering has been renominated by the Bush Administration for a Federal Appellate judgeship.
And there are two new ad spots that has been designed by Arianna Huffington of the Detroit Group which suggests that SUV owners are supporting terrorists. From the New York Times:
"This is George," a girl's voice says of an oblivious man at a gas station. "This is the gas that George bought for his S.U.V." The screen then shows a map of the Middle East. "These are the countries where the executives bought the oil that made the gas that George bought for his S.U.V." The picture switches to a scene of armed terrorists in a desert. "And these are the terrorists who get money from those countries every time George fills up his S.U.V."
A second commercial depicts a series of ordinary Americans saying things like: "I helped hijack an airplane"; "I gave money to a terrorist training camp in a foreign country"; "What if I need to go off-road?"
At the close, the screen is filled with the words: "What is your S.U.V. doing to our national security?"
YET (!!!!), these are the very same folks that do not want us to expand our domestic sources of oil by drilling in ANWR. They should sit down and shut up, because they are hypocrites - each and every one of them. Why? Because it matters not what vehicle you drive, a portion of the fuel can be argued to have come from Saudi Arabia - so they are just as guilty following their line of reasoning.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Giselle Fernandez used to have Katie Couric's job on the Today show on NBC. Then she suddenly got moved to Access Hollywood with Larry Mente (who is now NBC 10 anchor in Philadelphia), then she ended up on the History Channel (or Biography on A&E -- I can't remember), and then she just disappeared.
I just brought her up because Imus mentioned Bob Scheiffer's new book, This Just In, and apparently Scheiffer tells a story about her that Imus says HE would not have told....Hmmmm....

I hope I don't see that commercial you wrote about - how ridiculous!! The NY Crimes article did point out a number of stations are refusing to air the ads because the message is a tad over the top.

MSNBC has a better TV shot of the crash site...
To: Molly Pitcher
the US taxpayers were employees of the govt., and the govt. couldn't afford to give us a pay raise!! I'm still getting used to having a TV as it's been a few years since I could watch American television in my own home. I think my immunity is down.
Last night I stayed up to finish a jigsaw puzzle and inadvertantly heard the first 5-10 minutes of Nightline. They had all their people lined up to shoot down the president's whole economic stimulus plan. Very sickening.
Well, I learned this morning that if you make more than about $27,000 per year, you're in the top half of wage earners and therefore "rich" according to the Dems. Well, I'm not there, but with God's blessings I will get a job that will put me over into the rich half.

I can't help but wonder if Giselle is not tied in somehow to the big GE guy who had the fling with the Harvard Review Gal...yanow what i mean??

USAir commuter flight. Someone has said it wa a crash on take-off, maybe an aborted take-off that then overshot where he could stop. (This is speculation stuff as is usual on stories like this.)

I did catch an ad the other day that was making the same point about supporting terrorists through the purchase of illegal drugs. That seems reasonable to me and something that I'm surprised took this long to come out.

I am hearing that the plane went left on takeoff...disturbing that you don't see big pieces of wreckage...
To: Miss Marple
On its way to Greenville-Spartanburg (short flight).
Anchor mentioned a lot of corporations are located in that area, Michelin Tire, for one.

I can't believe that Jack Welch would be involved with GF...besides, the NBC people HATE the fact that they are GE employees...
To: Bitwhacker
MSNBC is reporting all killed. So sad. There are no large pieces of the aircraft visible.

People don't realize how dangerous the commuter flights are, relatively.
Here is a story about commuter airlines: In Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, there is a small airport that is the major connection point for people travelling from San Juan (North Central part of island) to the South West part. Everyone who takes that flight calls it 'The White-Knucler out of San Juan.' There is T-boomer activity every day in PR, and one time an American Eagle commuter flight crashed and burned.
So, when the media started showing up to film the wreckage, an employee from the ticket counter calmly went out to the plane and started spray painting over the airline logo with plack paint....
I drove from San Juan to Mayaguez from then on...

Daughter returns tomorrow from Florida with a connection from Midway (Chicago) to Indy on ATA's commuter flight.
Ugh.

During the first one, about 8:45, a caller to the network basically said the US taxpayers were employees of the govt., Was the caller asked when they joined the Communist Party?
