"Ancient eyes" is what I call them -- the eyes look like they were formed back in beginning of time. It almost looks "unnatural" it is so striking. They give the dog a look like there's still a bit of wild animal in them.

Yes, her eyes were some of the most incredible eyes I've ever seen. Alas, we believe that one was stolen from us. I got her because a co-worker in a small apartment had bought her. Thought she could live in an apartment laundry room. I got her at about 7 months. She was lovely. She disappeared 3 times. It was when the movie came out. The first time our neighbor's had actually seen someone walk in our fence and get her when we were gone. They didn't do anything because they thought it must be someone I knew getting her for some reason I knew about. Because of those circumstances word went out all over our area about the theft. (gossip) Myranda and I were devastated. About 3 days later a friend of a friend who lived about 5 miles from us called and said she'd found a dal on the gravel road heading toward our area and had heard we'd lost one. We went to see and it was Saphire.

She didn't like to stay in the house when we were gone so we put her on a lead in the back yard after that. She disappeared again. But, turned up back at the house a little less than 2 weeks later. We were glad to know she knew the way home but had no idea who was taking her. The 3rd time she disappeared she didn't come back. *sigh*
