Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hi, Overtaxed, I guess the coast of North Carolina must have lots of wrecks, it has a feasome reputation for it. 'Course any where there is water, there are lots of boats on the bottom ,it seems, usually with lots of fish on them.
I read a book last year that described how a guy found a sunken pirate ship right off the beach of Cape Cod that had been there a couple hundred years. Really fascinating, he devoted a major portion of his life to finding the thing.
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes, I believe y'alls was the original moot!
To: Sam Cree
Yep....lots of shifting sand out on the coast. I like keeping up with the Queen Anne's Revenge excavation. I think everything they've found so far points to Blackbeard's ship....they just haven't found the name plate yet.

Oh, that's interesting, Osage, didn't know you were a forester, that does sound like a very interesting line of work. Have enjoyed talking to some of the state forestry people in Virginia, and learned alot from them. This thread seems to have a fair number of folks who enjoy the outdoors.
Alot of the rangers in the S. Florida area don't seem to like very much that everyday people are in the parks, can't figure out what's wrong with those guys.
To: HairOfTheDog
I hadn't know that you met Penny1 here, that's nice.
To: Overtaxed
What was Blackbeard's real name, was that the Edward Teach guy? That stuck lit matches in his hair?
To: Sam Cree
who do you pick, Bear?Well, I don't like either team very much! But that's just me personally... Oakland has the #1 offense, Tampa Bay has the #1 defense; usually in situations like that, IMHO, the game is decided on the other side, that is, how will Tampa Bay's offense do against Oakland's defense? Then, you have intangibles, such as Oakland is full of "old heads" who have been to the Super Bowl before, while Tampa Bay' players are fairly young with no Super Bowl experience... they may be awed into playing badly.
After saying all that, I won't make a prediction! But I'll be rooting for Oakland, sort of. (Sorry Floridians!)
To: Sam Cree
Yep...that's him!

Not that you asked me...I'm rooting for Tampa Bay but think that Oakland will win.

Gimli carries a lot of axes! Here is a picture of his weapon set you can buy in miniature... Jeez Louise!! No wonder he was huffing and puffing on the hunt for Merry and Pippin!

I am not much of a follower of football, but might think it is better not to see a San Francisco area team win. Is George Blanda still on the team? Just kidding.
To: HairOfTheDog
Hehe, I call you Hair too, at least in my head. I have to think really hard to call you by your real name!
I think it's hilarious that we met here, even though we went to school together. Life can be funny, that's for sure!

...I'm rooting for Tampa Bay I never watch the Super Bowl. I don't much like professional football; I always like college ball better. The Bucs were franchised two years before we moved to FL, so for four years, while SSQ was in grad school, we heard about the Bucs all the time. They and the New Orlean's 'Ain'ts' are probably my two favorite teams, though I will root for the the Patriots from time to time since we live in MA now.
Go Bucs!

"what's her name" has had her screen caps page down for days now. She is having a hard time re-organizing this film! - It's the editing I tell you! It is a mess!
To: HairOfTheDog
I like the editing!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I know you like it Bear.... I promise if I meet PJ I will not choke him, but I will think about it when it cuts back to Fanghorn for the 4th time in the middle of the battle!
To: HairOfTheDog
I thought you weren't interested in the big battle scenes! ;)
I just find it amusing that you've been such a PJ-bot and I've had lots of criticisms of the movies, and now you're criticising him and I'm defending him! LOL!
To: HairOfTheDog
You know, that last cut back to the destruction of Isengard is really bad. I noticed that the other day as we were watching. I still think the worst is the cut when Sam and Frodo are being marched to Osgiliath, but that other one is really bad too...
I think it was a technique that PJ used that didn't quite accomplish what he may have wanted it to.
I wonder if at Versaphile, she took the images down because she needed to replace the old ones with the new and was running into problems. If she wanted to use the same file names for the new images, or whatever, I can see where she might get confused with which images were which. I can see why she might have wanted to take them all down until she was finished. Or perhaps she's having trouble with space or bandwidth. I am way over my limit on bandwidth this month, and it all happened after I posted TTT. It is worth it, but I am not looking forward to seeing my bill! :o

I am at least credible! - I was (and still am) a PJ-bot when he deserves the fanatical praise!
