Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

How many axes does Gimli carry, anyway? I counted at least three in Two Towers.
Hi all, I had to fix dinner for the siblings. I'll offer the leftovers here; Belgian waffles and omelets with cheddar and monteray jack cheese, green peppers, and bacon. Water or the beverage of your choice besides!
It's not that substantial but we can fill up at supper.

Yes, now there you go. Sounds great.
To: HairOfTheDog
AW! Cute puppies!
Alright, your forgiven! :^)
Thanks for the puppies!
BTW, I wonder if Farmer Maggot, is the only one in Middle Earth that has dogs?
ever wonder if Frodo or Sam had a pet? like a cat or a dog?
How about Aragorn? He looks like a cat person! :^)
Just curious like any normal hobbit would not be.

Talk to my axe, lassie... Don't look at me! I'm all for property rights. If Dwarves don't want handrails, it's okay by me. I notice the Elves didn't have handrails in Lothlorien.

Hehehe...I want to see Aragorn scooping a cat pan.

Hmmmm! Maybe he's not a cat person, I can't see him scooping a kitty litter box.
How about a dog? a Great Dane!
To: Pippin
It would be fun to see a cat claw his face to get him up at 3:00 in the morning. On the other hand, I can see a Great Dane dragging the King of Gondor down the sidewalk.

Hmmm!
What would be a fitting pet for the King of Gondor?
To: Pippin
Hmmmm....a parrot? Get one to talk his ear off.

I can hear Aragorn now, saying to the parrot "pollie whant a cracker?"
To: Pippin
Hehehe....but then a parrot's tropical and Gondor is in a temperate zone. Maybe a pet horse.

That's it!
A horse is a logical pet for the King of Gondor.
As for Frodo, I would say a cat because he had bad experiances with dogs in the past.
To: Pippin
Right....now...what about the others? Fish for Gandalf?

I have a brief moment...brief.
I have been out in the yard sucking leaves into a bag...it mulches as it sucks them up, then we dump them in the compost. Anyway, dust goes all over and I came in and looked in the mirror and I looked like someone from India or something, I was completely brown!
I'm thrilled you got the cookies!
To: Overtaxed
Fish for Gandalf?
I'd say and Eagle for Gandalf.
To: 2Jedismom
Good evening, 2Jmom!
To: 2Jedismom
Me too! I'm always glad to have cookies.
I'm down to one and a half rooms to clean....that's good for me.

I don't think Aragorn is a cat person. Arwen might be, though...

Yeah I kind of had Arwen pegged for a cat person too. Eagles sound right for Gandalf but I don't know how the eagles feel about being pets.

How about Gandalf as the eagle's pet?
