The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I could have used a better fitting blanket for my pony, but her blanket is new this year and I usually get a couple years out of them!
The funny thing about the one I ended up with (Weatherbeeta) is that it fits her chest-to-tail just fine (she wears a 65") but when they made it shorter lengthwise, they didn't make it any shorter "height and breadth" wise. In other words, It hangs down to her knees and gathers way under her belly. I suppose it is providing a lot of warmth, but she does look a bit like she is wearing a dress!

Also, it calls for adding saffron, I never do...I just use the plain water. I wondered about the saffron; my recipe doesn't have it. I guess it is used to give the bread a nice yellow color. I don't care about the color, I just want it to TASTE good! As soon as Clare is finished with her other school stuff, we'll do some Home Economics. ;o)

(she wears a 65") Oooops. That caught my eye, then I went back to read that you were talking about a horse...

Ksen.... exactly how are we supposed to respond when we see a gondorian wearing this?
To: HairOfTheDog; Corin Stormhands
The HHD tagline is working, I've been asked twice today what it means so I tell 'em and give 'em a link.
.
.
Of course it was to two people on the Religion forum, so if we get some rabble rousers in here.......it was Corin's fault.

Ksen.... exactly how are we supposed to respond when we see a gondorian wearing this?If I were you I wouldn't respond at all. Remember, crazy old Denethor is in charge and the guards are NONE too happy with recent developments Gondorian Uniformuary.
They tend to get a little cranky when people come up and start asking them how much it would cost to FTD a bouqet of roses from Minas Tirith to Meduseld (Faramir's always pulling that one).

I don't know, Hair. But all of the sudden this song popped into my head (and it's not one I particularly like either).
So take, these broken wings
And learn to fly again
and learn to live so free!
