Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

For some reason when I saw it, I could just see Hair hauling it around with her everwhere...to feed the horses, driving down the road...the mental picture really cracked me up.
I very likely need more sleep and I certainly need more coffee!
Good morning everyone!

Hair would show up with Frodo at Entmoot! If she flies Southwest, she'll have to buy him a seat...

LOL! I've never seen the eastern ski areas, but I've heard tales of them from people who have been to them...
Out here, we consider a ski area pretty so-so if it "only" has 3,000 vertical feet, and I'm told that 300 is pretty big number for vertical feet at a ski area in the east.
We like to get a base of snow around 80 inches before we consider the skiing "adequate" and we don't like skiing below 4,000 feet in elevation because the snow gets to mushy and icy down below that. I'm sure the people who ski in the east would look at me as if I was a Martian if I said that out there.
It's a whole different world in the west -- and they are even pickier than I am in the mountain west, where they stick their noses straight into the air at anything less than pure champagne powder snow, and about 10 feet of it (minimum) at that.

If she flies Southwest, she'll have to buy him a seat... What if she asks to sit him on her lap?
To: RMDupree
Can you imagine? Hair would show up with Frodo at Entmoot! Hee hee! I can see Hair buying Frodo a seat on the airplane.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
I believe it would be fun to ski out west, I think...maybe work in an elk hunting expedition while I am at it. Though I don't know if those things will ever happen...'course I don't want the elk if it has mad cow disease.
To: Overtaxed; 2Jedismom; RMDupree; Corin Stormhands

Can I really take him home?
To: Overtaxed
If I buy him a seat can he still sit on my lap?
To: HairOfTheDog
You mean you don't already have him? LOL I would have thought for sure you already had him! LOL
To: 2Jedismom
I had no idea he was really available for sale!
I have never seen such a thing!

That's a great standee...I have seen those in several places here in Houston...very popular in the Katy Mills mall.
Here's a screencap for you, Hair...he's thinking of the breakfast that was just prepared... (hehehehe)

I should be arrested for my thoughts. There are no thought police in the Hobbit Hole. *wink*
