The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!
Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I can't believe you just got the triple naught precious - good job :-D
I broke my leg in college, too on a toboggan in VA, but am still dumb enough to try skiing, at which I am terrible. Was still wearing the cast when I met the lady to whom I am now married.

Mornin' all. Hope Friday finds you well and happy. We have a dusting of snow 0.5-1 inch or so- just enough for the various counties of MD to freak out and order snow emergencies. Promises to be a quiet day (knock on wood) so maybe I'll be able to keep up with the chatsey hobbitses for a change.

Drat! Foiled again! Have been called to a meeting. Promises to be quite dull. ACK!

When I was in college, I broke my leg roller-skating ... nevermind ...

I'm here...can I go home now? :)
I get the Blue Screen of Death 3 times while I'm trying to boot up the computer so I call the tech guys, right. Then the boss man comes in and reboots and the piece of junk works!

Morning, morning, morning!
Sorry I got here so late, but Farmer Maggot was giving me a rough time over the price of mushrooms, once again!
Anyway, here is breakfast (first or second depending on time zones). *grin*
Egg, cheese and sausage biscuits with sausage gravy, if you like. Two platters of pancakes with maple syrup, nice crispy bacon (4 plates since the Dwarves are here!), hash browns, fried eggs over easy and plenty of hot, strong coffee. There's juice and tea as well. ENJOY!
I do have a few T-bones left from yesterday, so let me know if you want me to fry them up for you. First come, first serve!
2J - buy another LoTR chocolate bar and then eat the one you have! LOL! BTW, I saw the cutest Frodo cardboard cut-out standee! It's 4 and a half feet high and I'm tempted to get one. Now, where would I put it? *grin*
Alkhin - no offense, dear FRiend. I will stay off to the side with my beloved Merry, but please forgive my occasional lapses into Pippin adoration!

YUM!! Breakfast....er, rather Ninesies, here on the Gulf Coast of Texas...
'Hurray!" cried Pippin, springing up. 'Here is our noble cousin! Make way for Frodo, Lord of the Ring!'
'Hush!' said Gandalf from the shadows at the back of the porch. 'Evil things do not come into this valley; but all the same we should not name them. The Lord of the Ring is not Frodo, but the master of the Dark Tower of Mordor, whose power is again stretching out over the world! We are sitting in a fortress. Outside it is getting dark.'
'Gandalf has been saying many cheerful things like that,' said Pippin. 'He thinks I need keeping in order. But it seems impossible, somehow, to feel gloomy or depressed in a place like this. I feel I could sing, if I knew the right song for the occaision.'
'I feel like singing myself,' laughed Frodo. 'Though at the moment I feel more like eating and drinking!'
'That will soon be cured,' said Pippin. 'You have shown your usual cunning in getting up just in time for a meal.'
'More than a meal! A feast!' said Merry... ---------------------- Alkhin - no offense, dear FRiend. I will stay off to the side with my beloved Merry, but please forgive my occasional lapses into Pippin adoration!
ROFL...but that was the WHOLE POINT of posting the picture(s)!!! To convert you COMPLETELY to Pippin adoration!!! But alas, I can forgive the current fascination with Merry...I am growing quite fond of him too...
