The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

(despite our elf/dwarf differences - I am not a part of the plot. Could be that the hobbits are getting ideas of their own though.)

They have to tell people that? This is Richmond dahlin'. It has not been that long ago that women wouldn't go shopping without matching shoes and purse (some still do, and I'm talkin' grocery store).
Best way to describe Richmond?
Q: How many Richmonders does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Three. One to change the bulb and two to sit on the porch and talk about how good the old one was.
To: Corin Stormhands
us? paranoid? NEVER! *looking right* *looking left*
where are all those hobbits anyway?

Reckon they're gettin' one big "backgammon" room?)
That's an image I don't need on a Monday mornin'...

Scarey part is, I would probably fit in just fine in Richmond.
Had to have a long conversation with my mom on the phone last night though. Sometimes I feel really really ignorrant. Why can't we just cut all the guessing games and speak plainly - ya know?

Hey, WN, thanks for the shopping advice. I like the first dress quite a bit but I don't want to give my father a heart attack. That one has a bit too much cleavage! I thought that first dress looked a lot like something that Myranda would want now. Seems to be the going style for people under 25. (I think that was the going style for a couple of years there when I was under 25 too.)
You could always do a little blind stitching to lessen the cleavage showing.

Thanks for the memories Mr. Hope.

WOW. I was talking to this guy in WalMart yesterday that was telling me that Bob Hope was his cousin. He seemed sincere. But, you know, I always have to doubt it. I think the guy must have been about the same age as Bob though.

I don't get women that don't let guys enjoy some hobbies, though, whether they themselves participate in them or not. Maybe that's just because I don't know what it's like to have kidsMe either, Rosie! I don't think it really has anything to do with having kids. I guess some women would get mad at their husbands for going off doing things and leaving them with the kids, but then maybe THEY need hobbies or other activities!
I guess some women are jealous that their hubbies will have female friends that are interested in the hobby and fear that the hubby might be 'tempted'. Actually some men might fear the same thing if the situation were reversed.

Looking at the deb-yoo-tant photo. I need to scan my moms. And post it one of these days.

A: Three. One to change the bulb and two to sit on the porch and talk about how good the old one was.LOL!! That is priceless, and so very true of much of the "Old South".

Yup, Angleton is where I know it is time to turn north, when I take the highway that skirts the coast to visit my friend in Pearland.
Morning all. I am back from picture taking in Mexico. Good sports they were, those Mexican bystanders, happily watching as I made a spectacle with my set-up for the pictures. Much fun, but I don't think they knew who or what Frodo was. Then one small group of American teenage girls came up, and made a big fuss over Frodo, hollering things like, "Elijah!! He is so cute."

Good morning everyone!
The Quest for the Perfect Cooktop was completed, but only by the decision that what we have now is better than what's out there. *grin* We did, however, buy our new fridge. It's a lovely black shiny side-by-side one that matches the rest of our steel/black appliances. It has a MSRP of around $2k, but we got a floor model in terrific shape for $1k. And, best of all, it's a Whirlpool! The one with the ice maker in the door to open up more freezer space. Terrific!
Anyway, my heart is saddened by the loss of Mr. Hope. We've lost an angel here on earth, but our loss is Heaven's gain. God bless you, Bob.
Let's have a bite to eat and see what happens to the thread today.
