Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hullo...just checking in to see how everyone's weekend went. Seems like all had a good 'em.
The spoiler "pings" much appreciated... Gosh folks, I just can't wait till the "Rings" push is on. "Trailers" are needed here.
Our weekend was not much fun...playing "try to find where the leak is". Had more water in cabinets this a.m. Checked out for roof damage and there is none.
Hubby leaving for Philly tommorrow so I am in the middle of washing and packing. We had thought he was going to Maryland was this coming week, then Philly the next, but they exchanged the times. Thought about trying to go with him to Philly, but need to stay here ...
Anyway hope ";All" are having a good evening... Chow darling.

Hmmm, white fixtures, marble with streaks of grey. Would you like a light dusty blue, or pale grey green? Either one would give a nice punch of color, without being TOO deep or bright.

Ooh, decorating advice! Cool!
Man, can't believe the weekend's over already. I don't want Monday.

I figured out the problem! I had copied the properties of the little thumbnail pic, DOH! Here I am in all my glory trying to haul myself back in the boat after deliberately tipping over. I told you it was my 'good side'! ;o)
To: SuziQ
I was thinking a blue-tinted white. I don't want to match the vanity top because it's been there a while and will probably be replaced soon. I'm thinking something cool (as opposed to warm) that will go with the chrome-trimmed medicine cabinet and mirror and I don't want gray...too institutional. :)
To: SuziQ
MUCH BETTER! lol!

300wm & g'nad; yes the 870 is fine weapon, but consider the venerable Win '97. That was an alley cleaner without peer, imho. Just hold the trigger down and pump away. More than one KCPD officer was not pleased to hear they were replaced with 1200's and (sorry) 870's.
Had one of the '97s for a while and conducted a few experiments with it. Fire control under full bore mode was quite remarkable.
To: HairOfTheDog
Yeah, that was about 30 seconds before I went a$$ over teakettle off the other side of the boat! LOL! I've got bruises on my right arm from the 'hanging on' part! It was a lot of fun, though.
To: osagebowman; 300winmag
mrsnad's father has an old '97... I love that gun... it had a crack in the top of the receiver at the rear of the ejection port that he had welded... still shoots great... 5' pattern at 30 yards with .00 buck... I killed more rabbits, squirrels, pheasants and quail with that gun...
an alley cleaner without peer, imho
and a superb trench gun...

I was thinking a blue-tinted whiteThat sounds nice. We have a pink/beige tinted white, "Candlewhite", in our upstairs hall.
To: SuziQ
Real Estate Lady says "white", so I'm going the tinted white route. The bedroom white is tinted beige/taupe. It used to be blue with wallpaper on one wall (I didn't do it!) I kept putting off painting that room because I didn't want to strip the wallpaper....what a chore!

To: HairOfTheDog
Woah! That'll wake you up in the morning!
The people in line ahead of me at the paint store were getting a color like that only a bit redder.
To: Overtaxed
Woah! That'll wake you up in the morning! You betcha!

That one has a bit too much cleavage! Cleavage is Biblical. 'Specially fer a weddin'.
Genesis 2:24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

I am bummed that we didn't get the a$$ over teakettle shot! Would have been worth the bruises (for us!)
