The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I love how they used the word "estel". They translate it as "trust" but it actually means "hope". Basically saying, "If you put your hope in nothing else, put your hope in us".
It's the sequence where Aragorn is dreaming (It is a good dream).

Another thanks here, HOTD. I was wondering what I was going to watch on TV until "The Dead Zone" and "Enterprise" were on.
To: ican'tbelieveit
I don't know if - or which - of the cast might be there, or if PJ went!
I will be watching!
To: HairOfTheDog
It doesn't start until 8pm here, when Dead Zone starts, UGH. But, fav pic awards are usually late in the show, so it will fill in the 9-10 pm break. I have "Windtalkers" on DVD... think I might watch it in the mean time. Better yet, another viewing of FOTR special edition.

Found something to watch, "Pitch Black"
To: HairOfTheDog; All
BTW: Did anyone else hear??? Yesterday, I heard Michael Medved proclaim that his choice for best movie of the year was "The Two Towers" -- he said it was "hands down, easily the best movie of the year". He said it should win the Best Picture Oscar going away.

Hello everyone! Just piping in to say that my kid and I had a really cool time seeing the film with Bear and Rose Friday night! We just got home about 45 minutes ago. It was so fun. Only 2 things wrong. First, we didn't have enough time to visit. Two, we couldn't make them stop the movie so we could talk about it.
But, it was so fun and well worth the trip for me.
And BTW, thest cookies they sent home with us are WONDERFUL. Enjoying them right now and wish more of you were here to enjoy them with us!

It would be really cool to see it on a huge screen with rabid fans willing to shell out that dough! And not to mention... it would be cool for US to be counted as some of those rabid fans! It would be real fun.
And to think, I was concerned that I would get a bad case of empty nest syndrome when Myranda leaves home next fall. I've already got Entmoot on my calendar, and now this!!!

I grew up an Episcopalian, but I don't remember anyone ever calling the ministers "father." And I think I am right that only Catholic priests take confessions, though I believe all ministers and even rabbis are ready to help their congregants with personal type problems. But Mel looked like an Episcopalian minister, which is pretty much similar to a Catholic priest in appearance, I think. Anyway, it doesn't matter, I don't think, it was a good movie.
Interesting, I thought, that the aliens were depicted as hostile, since most of the UFO people assume they are not, as they have purportedly been here many years without attacking.
However, I figure that if aliens could manipulate time and space, or even travel through time, that assumption could be false. Maybe they've only been here a couple weeks, reconnoitering, and it seems like many years because they have been time traveling to look us over.

Oh yeah, love the double moons, rings... and well, vin diesel. Although he is one of those guys who I would rather just look at and not have to hear.
