The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I am afraid I need help with the restaurant sign! [scratches head]

Wanna borrow my backgammon game? It's magnetic....LOL! No thanks. I'm gonna have my hands full for a while learning how to handle the thing, I think. Makes me think even more about living on a nice quiet lake. We could drag the boats to the water and go kayaking whenever we wanted!

... Corin,,,,, what was it? Dahling it's been fuh evuh! It's the Hallelujah Back Bend Greeting (not to be confused with the Chicken Dance)

When I first heard he got the part of Frodo, my instantaneous reactions was "OH! he'll be Goooooood!"
and i was right!
gonna hang here cause I havent taken time yet to get to know y'all...

Frodo does a chicken dance at Bilbo's birthday party.

I've seen an occasional $1000 laptop at Costco that looked like agood buy. Try Tiger Direct for refurbished gear. I got a refurb DVD burner at a good price, with full warranty.
Or you could always try pawn shops. :)

I'm still wondering what Hair's doing with her paddle while she's backgammoning.

Go to the store and buy the things I like.
Oh yeah...I remember those days. I'm gonna run away from home.
To: HairOfTheDog
I am afraid I need help with the restaurant sign! [scratches head] But...but it's got a bull under the sign!
To: Overtaxed
But what about the restaurant sign?Moooo?
To: Corin Stormhands
It's the Hallelujah Back Bend Greeting (not to be confused with the Chicken Dance) Yea! That's the one. It happened right in front of me. And I thought of you. Right there at the Wichita County pubbie meeting!
But, I couldn't remember what you called the thing. I almost busted out laughing in a most unlady-like manner!
Unlike 2J, I like the Chicken Dance much better!

I'm sorry, that must have been awful. You know, quite honestly it was the worst thing I've ever been thru, but situations like that you learn to laugh about (being spread eagle on the table, etc.). It was a miserable experience, but every day I went in for treatment I saw someone who was worse off.
Mine was caught early. I had a minimal amount of treatment. I am very fortunate.
To: Alkhin
I haven't read it yet, no, because I was gonna read it over coffee in the morning because it was lengthy and the endless idle chit-chat here is moving too fast.
I am very much an Elijah Wood fan... I think he is a really nice kid. When I saw Sean Astin live, he said Elijah is very wise for his age, said he was an "old soul".... Lots of people describe him that way.
To: Corin Stormhands
It's the Hallelujah Back Bend Greeting (not to be confused with the Chicken Dance)Of course, we'll be doing BOTH at Entmoot!
To: Alkhin
Hi again Alkhin! This is really a case of GMTA! Did you read the post before yours?

If the trees wanted to come they could have made like ents and walked. I've got a dozen oak trees in my back yard that I've told are free to go...
(pant, pant, I'm still catching up...I'm much better over short post distances...)
To: SuziQ
Of course, we'll be doing BOTH at Entmoot! What's this "we" stuff?
