The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

My biggest freakout is how many times I have probably stepped right over or near rattlers. And you call yerself a pentecostal...
To: HairOfTheDog
Hi gang!
Well, that was cool. The Author was a real live person. He looks like a college professor, actually, and was very gracious... very small group, they didn't advertise. So he read a story and signed books, even personalized them! And it was fun going with my dad. Plus Dad told me I should read one of Turtledove's series that I haven't read before, and he has the whole set, so I have another week or so of books at hand.

Gee, what a story of parental ignorance. No doubt that if the kid had been attacked the rescue place would have been held at fault.
And give me a break! What about this guide person? Do you think that job pays well? They could hire me! I used to raise wolf hybrids. I would be good at that job.
except, i tend to not be patient with ill-behaved children.

A little trolling. Friday night was something of a blur, but it may have been productive. We'll have to wait and see on that one. Saturday was uneventful. Sunday was get-oil-change-and-carwash day for the little white pony. Much trolling was had. Still working a couple of nibbles. :-)
It's 92 here today. I haven't had the top *up* in two weeks. It's a beautiful thing. White, clean and neat. :-)
To: Sam Cree
Oh that lion wasn't going to attack....I think he thought the pony had died. He only eats food that dies of natural causes!
To: Corin Stormhands
Hi, Corin, how's it going? Are you guys going to the beach again for vacation?

"That wolf sees an unattended child to eat"I would have gone this direct route with obviously idiot parents who let their kids run wild around wildlife. I guess they must have really trusted those cages the wolves were in!
To: Wneighbor
But, I have drank my share of poison! bwwaahahaha... I'm not sure, but I think that counts. I'll read up on *Acts* and get back to you. :-P
To: Sam Cree
Are you guys going to the beach again for vacation? Yep. August 2-9. And we're takin' Flat Frodo to Kitty Hawk.
To: Corin Stormhands
I jest hope you keep up yer chandelier swingin' Were you around a couple of weeks ago when I told Hair that I figger now that Myranda's gone.... I can go bungee jumping? Will that suffice?

A DWARF dog?
To: Wneighbor
I figger now that Myranda's gone.... I can go bungee jumping? Go for it! I've done that.
Yes, it was one of the coolest things I've ever done. Really glad I did it. No... I'm never doing it again. To find out why you're just going to have to do it yourself. Words cannot do justice.
To: SuziQ
A DWARF dog? Dalmations are too flashy to be dwarves, methinks...
To: Wneighbor
That, is a gorgeous photo.I just wish I had taken it. Maybe I'll get an even better one on safari in Africa.
