Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

accidental snaig.

And never learn from it. What? What? There is something to learn? What? Can we prevent this? Don't leave me hangin'....
To: Scott from the Left Coast; HairOfTheDog; RMDupree
You know, that might be preferable to the scene in my house.
The dog and the cat are sitting in the kitchen staring at where there food usually is. Dog can't have anything and we moved the cat's upstairs. (Dog won't go upstairs without us, so it's okay for now). I showed the cat where hers is, but she's sitting infront of the bin we keep her food in and crying...
Where's that pet shrink when you need her....????

How very sad!
To: Corin Stormhands
Yes, if they stop eating crap, they will no longer get this ailment.
But that will only happen when they're dead anyway.
To: Ramius
That's what I wanna be when I grow up.
I won't grow up,
(I won't grow up)
I don't want to go to school.
(I don't want to go to school)
Just to learn to be a parrot,
(Just to learn to be a parrot)
And recite a silly rule.
(And recite a silly rule)
If growing up means
It would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree,
I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up
Not me!
Not I,
Not me!
Not me!
I won't grow up,
(I won't grow up)
I don't want to wear a tie.
(I don't want to wear a tie)
And a serious expression
(And a serious expression)
In the middle of July.
(In the middle of July)
And if it means I must prepare
To shoulder burdens with a worried air,
I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up
Not me,
Not I,
Not me!
So there!
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Yes, if they stop eating crap, they will no longer get this ailment. I've never seen him do that though. I guess he could when he's outside all day. The cat's box has a cover on it. He couldn't get in it without wearing it on his head.

Growing Older But Not Up
Written by - Jimmy Buffett
From - Coconut Telegraph
I rounded first never thought of the worst
As I studied the shortstop's position
Crack went my leg like the shell of an egg
Someone call a decent physician
I'm no Pete Rose, I can't pretend
Though my mind is quite flexible, these brittle bones don't bend
Chorus:
I'm growing older but not up
My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck
Let those winds of time blow over my head
I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead
Sometimes I see me as old manatee
Headin' south as the waters grow colder
Tries to steer clear of the hum-drum so near
It cuts prop scars deep in his shoulder
But that's how it goes (that's how it goes), right to the end
Though his body's quite flexible, that barnacle brain don't bend
Chorus
Now don't get me wrong
This is not a sad song
Just events that I have happened to witness
And time takes its toll as we head for the poll
And no one dies from physical fitness
So what the hell, we'll take it right to the end
As the days grow more complicated the night life still wins
Chorus
Let those winds of time blow over my head
I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead

I use the word "crap" euphemistically. It could be various sorts of inedible or barely edible material that causes this.
To: HairOfTheDog
Thanks. That makes me feel better....
(but two weeks from tonite I'll be wastin' away again in Mararitaville....I am soooooooo ready for vacation)
To: Scott from the Left Coast; HairOfTheDog
It could be various sorts of inedible or barely edible material that causes this. See Hair? It could have been my parking pass...
To: Corin Stormhands; HairOfTheDog
A parking pass with bad bacteria on it...what have you been doing with that parking pass?
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Heh....you do know who I work for don't you?
To: Corin Stormhands
A workman's comp suit for your dog...
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Would I have to give the court his social security number? 'Cause seems like that would cause problems with my tax return...
To: Corin Stormhands
If your dog has a social security number, I would hazard that you've already got issues with your tax return.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
ooops...nevermind
To: Corin Stormhands
LOL!
To: Ramius
Hi Ramius!
Yes, I agree about the guy being lucky to see the cat first. Matter of fact, kind of makes you wonder if this one was old, blind or lame. Or, could be that the guy had said his prayers that morning.
My biggest freakout is how many times I have probably stepped right over or near rattlers. I know they're out there. Don't see 'em often. But, am absolutely certain that has to do with my eyesight! And those things freak me out. Saw a guy who was bitten once on a hot day on the side of a road. Combining the situation with that heat, it was a really bad sight. Guy made it okay, but it was pretty painful.
Where've you been all weekend? Out trolling for wenches without the wireless connection?

So, did Old Bay bite the lion like he did your friend's dog?
