Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

"I just wish they could have done the one that Tolkien actualy wrote"
I am with you on that and also with you in that I still loved the film, especially as it pretty well brings the story to life, even thought it changes it.
My favorite line is "Are you his bodyguard?"
"No, his gardener."

It may be on the pass at Cirith Ungol where Shelob attacks Frodo. Sam think he's dead and decides to leave him to continue on to Mt. Doom to finish the quest on his own. This picture looks like when Sam is saying 'goodbye' to Frodo.
That's what I was thinking too...

Good evening everyone...
Back from meeting Wneighbor and her daughter at our Texas miniminiMoot. We had a great time! Unfortunately Rose and I were a bit late in getting there (that's not unusual for us...) so we didn't have long to visit before the movie started... but we made up for it by having a good visit after the movie was done. It was a lot of fun to discuss what we liked and didn't like about the movie, and how it differed from the book, as well as various and sundry other topics. Rose got to talk a lot, which she is very good at. Wneighbor brought us a gift: a jar of home-made salsa, which I can hardly wait to taste!
All in all, a fine evening, and I hope we can get together again soon!
To: All
I forgot to mention, Wneighbor's cloak looked great!
I'm afraid I'm very tired... I don't know if I got a job today or not, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. It's a long story.

Sam, it's about faith, losing it and finding it again.
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." To me, that is a universal theme.
I loved this movie ... but it's not about alien invasion, that's for sure!

No, Hair, if your system is under a parts and labor warranty, then a tech will come to your place and swap that card for you, if you want that.
See, it's infinitely cheaper to send a monitor than it is to pay for a tech to come to you.
<hmmph!> And if you just have a parts-only warranty, the tech you spoke to should have had you self-test that monitor, or sent you a video card and a monitor. Cheaper in the long run!

"Hello! Thank you for calling ****. My name is ****. May I have your service tag number, please?"
"Your service tag number is a five- or seven character string of numbers and/or letters on a white bar-coded label on the back of your system."

But didn't that happen in a tunnel?
Good Morning, all!

But didn't that happen in a tunnel?
When at last the blackness passed, Sam looked up and shadows were about him; but for how many minutes or hours the world had gone dragging on he could not tell. He was still in the same place, and still his master lay beside him dead. The mountains had not curmbled nor the earth fallen into ruin. And later....
The tunnel was some way behind; the Cleft a couple of hundred yards ahead, or less. The path was visible in the dusk, a deep rut worn in ageas of passage, running now gently up in a long trough with cliffs on either side. Okay....so they're not in a tunnel....but it still should be darker than what that picture shows. :)

OT: That is what I was recalling, in a deep cut but out of the tunnel. Nice job on the quote. Will be off to an arms show after we take Samantha for her constitutional.

Good morning Rose! I can give you my service tag number if you like!
If I call back might I get luckiy and get you? I would love to have been sent both! I can't see what I am doing!
I honestly don't know what kind of warranty I have at this point.... my three year extended ends in April. I was just thrilled that is was still under warranty at all!
LOL! - Ramius, you may have hurt our Rose's feelings with the comments about the Dell help desk folks....

I think if we're going girl scout cookie types it would be more like the Samoa's. After all, there's protein in them! ACK! You're not supposed to worry about nutrition when eating GS cookies! ;) Besides, wouldn't the caramel and chocolate (yum) stick to the leaf wrappers?
To: Dawntreader
Thanks for the link to the name generator. Mine came up as Inwë Elensar. Very pretty name, I think!
To: Scott from the Left Coast
I am trying to be here.... it is just hard to see, so it depresses me!
Glad you had a good ski trip!
We had some ups and downs in the Hobbit Hole, many of the men were away for various reasons, so we were left most of the week with just the wimmin on the thread sometimes. Bear and Sam will be happy to have you back!

Stupid chat server!
Everytime I lose the connection, I have to cold boot. And then it wouldn't log me in again.
Coffee is brewing! Just smell the antioxidants wafting through the air.

I can't wait to see Signs. It is a fantastic thriller. I can't even remember the last movie that had people in the theater jumpling and screaming. There were some serious "Boooo-ya"s. Shaymalan (sp?) is definately the next Hitchcock.

Stupid fat chat server.
Horses are fed.... Now if it would just get light outside, I would start a project!

There, all caught up! Good morning everyone- I spent pretty much all of yesterday with various loan occifers (sic) and I think we've got all the financing for the new house in place. Money talk is so exhausting- I admire anyone who likes it. I could never do that whole finance thing for a living- ugh.
To: Festa
Yep, good sound and picture certainly can make or break a movie! There are 2 theaters that I go to where I'm guaranteed a good experience. We have a Regal here too, but my favorite is our Carmike Wynnsong theater. You can't beat their popcorn and they have one room that has a huge "superscreen"...it was awesome seeing TTT on that!

I'm going to check the website (www.lordoftherings.com) and see if they have any tips or cheat sheets!Try http://www.gamefaqs.com
Click your system (PC), and the games are listed alphabetically.
The temptation is to look at the "Cheats and Codes" section...but I use the site for FAQs and Walkthroughs when I'm really stumped with a game.
