The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You look great Jen! Really!
It's not a bad Hair day unless she's whackin' you with the stick!
To: JenB
Hi Jen!! It's nice to see a face behind the lines on the page! So what camera did you get?
To: Corin Stormhands
Does "Full House Corin Honest Snaig" fit in the keywords?
To: SuziQ
It's a Fuji - figure those Japanese must know something about cameras, after all! And it was the nicest lower-cost model they had, I'm still working out the features.

Anythin's possible with rotor-heads... they could easily locate you with mapquest and a GPS...
despite all their hi-falutin whizz-bang navigation gadgets, most all military pilots, especially rotor-heads, use IFR... "I Follow Roads"...
To: mstar
What do I do now? Do I do anything? No, just show him a good time when he arrives. There is information on getting your report posted at the Flat Frodo FAQ.
To: g'nad
Well, it seems they follow Memorial, which cuts right across Tulsa, North to South from the Airport and I live very near a major intersection of Memorial, so they could easily look for me coming up on that spot!
I just wish Steve would be home to see it...I'm sure it would amaze him. I just wish I could have seen them better...they came close enough that if I'd had better eyes, I probably could have seen if they were waving or not.
I am so tickled.

mmmmmm... milkshakes... just got done with a batch of strawberry-blueberry-blackberry-huckleberry milkshakes... mrsnad called 'em "quadberries"...
To: g'nad
Too true... even coastie rotorheads. Doesn't work when feet-wet, but it does work to go "OK... see that little island next to the big island? Good... take a right at the little island and fly out for about five minutes. Look for boat in the middle of a bunch of other boats. Subject boat will be the one with all the black smoke coming out".
To: SuziQ
I agree. I need to see it again. I tend to be rather slow in grasping movies. I'm an artist that hasn't painted in a very long time, so I get hung up on visuals, (scenery, facial features, clothing, ect.)and miss the rest of the movie. I really got strung out on the movie's fog that would, at times swirl about, and then just hang there... looking just plain creepy.
To: Corin Stormhands
O.K. thanks.
To: JenB
Great picture, Jen. I'm sure you'll be far happier with the $200 camera than a $100 one. What model did you get?

To: ecurbh
Thanks for the info. Will do.
To: Ramius
LOL I can just hear them...
"Ok...see that big baptist church there on the right...swerve over behind it and you'll find a slightly pudgy housewife out in the yard waving a flag like a lunatic...that's the subject house."
Ha!

while we had quadberry shakes, "theboy" (not "thenewboy"... he still only drinks milk from "thecow") had to have plain vanilla...some problem he has with chunks. He's sure to end up in therapy because of it later.

"Yeah. That's her."
"It's the darndest thing. They say if you fly low enough she'll come runnin' out of the house wavin' a flag...but for some reason she won't look directly at you..."
