Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

No, my daughter is 20. She's amazed and skeptical that I have "internet" friends, but seems to be finally deciding it's a good idea. There is a good chance she will be with me next year, since her Christmas vacation is probably not over quite yet then.
Actually, I love Miami, there are lots of wonderful things about it. But lots of the people here are very strange. There is even a book out called "Strange Florida."

Next time you see TTT look at Aragorn's arms while he lays dying during the flash-forward scene with ArwenThanks for the heads up! Clare and I are finally going to get to see for the second time tomorrow! This time we're going to sit all the way in the back to get the full screen effect!!

Preferably with tasteful rhinestone trim as well. and certainly covered by THE mantle! Or I'll haul them all away. if i can get my arms loose from these wierd tied sleeve thingys.

I think if we're going girl scout cookie types it would be more like the Samoa's. After all, there's protein in them!Oh yeah! They're REALLY good for you! This year, the Girl Scouts have gone with a different cookie maker, and they're no longer calling them 'Samoas'. I think they're called 'Caramel Delights', or something like that. Clare gets her cookie stuff at the meeting this afternoon. Just so long as they didn't mess with the Thin Mints. They and the shortbread are my favorites!!

I keep forgetting to look for things I mean too. I just get too wrapped up. What did you say Hair about something Gandalf grabs and the impression it leaves on his robes?
Also...isn't Aragorn's armor going to be just like Faramir's and Boromir's anyway? With the white tree? Maybe it isn't Boromir's after all...I would assume they are though. Just wondering because in a pic for ROTK he's wearing...what do you call it? A breastplate(?) with a white tree on it, just like Faramir is wearing in The Two Towers.
Also...I keep trying to remember to count the days/nights after Gandalf leaves searching for Eomer to see if it really is the 5th day lol. But I just keep forgetting to do it.

No idea how to pronounce that one! lol
To: 2Jedismom
I hope YOU think it's stunning. From the conversation flow here I've determined that YOU are the one PJ most has to please on this one. I liked the Galadriel creations so far. Some of Arwen's I didn't care as much for as I would have liked. The Eowyn white dress - I LOVED... I want one... except, there's the tummy issue. hips too. and i'm NOT in my 20's, and I'm in the real world, i take care of myself but those aren't going away.

I think this is what Aragorn is gonna look like in ROTK...
Aragorn Picture
If your browser is like mine, it can be made bigger...it looks like he still has Boromir's gauntlets to me...
I'd fall over dead if someone rode up to me looking like that.
To: Wneighbor
LOL!! You know, I drew pictures of Eowyn when I was a kid...one particular one I wish I could find of her talking to King Theoden. I swear, it looks just like how PJ portrayed her talking to Theoden about his son dying. And I actually drew that white dress she's wearing, down to the belt.
So I'm thrilled with PJ's ideas...because they are almost exactly how I've always imagined. I'm filled with anticipation to see how he did this mantle!

I've been meaning to ask something....For FOTR & TTT, here in Minneapolis they showed the movie a few days or a week before at the State Theater downtown. I believe Jackson, Wood & Bloom and I think others were there. You pay $200 or something like that to go and get a meal and all. Did they do that in a number of cities or just ours? I thought I had heard Jackson has a connection here or something and that's why it was here. But I'm not sure if I'm remembering that correctly. I always thought it sounded so cool, but $200...
BUT when I could save up a little each month and go to it for ROTK. I don't know anyone who'd pay that much to go with me though! But if I'll do it, might as well do it for the last one!
To: All
Well everyone. I'm headed out to pick up the dog - gotta drop Smeagol at Grama's house - then to pick Myranda up from school so we can go to this miniminimoot. I should be seeing Bear and Rose in about 6-1/2 hours. You'll hear back from him long before I'll get to check back in. I won't be back till Sunday.
Ruthy, thanks for the biscuits and gravy and sausage. They ought to hold me on the road for a good while. And I'm taking a large tankard of that coffee with me if you don't mind. Talk to ya'll after this little pre-entmoot.
