The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Thank ee.

(but I'd never have even noticed if you hadn't posted the warning so I guess I have to give you a fraction of credit.)

She should plant some kudzu to replace it.

Now that would be funny! Do ya' think MtNWN knows what kudzu looks like?

I think kudzu is the Balrog all NWN's fear.... Megan's Bane. This foe is beyond any of them.

Am reading the Hobbit to Erin. I think she is getting REALLY sick of me and hobbits. She'd rather read about horses and teenagers babysitting. *sigh* I'm the Geek-nerd Mom...just when I thought I had escaped from that...

Don't feel bad, that was me too. Both girls liked the typical girl reading material but when I read 'em the Hobbit, one of 'em stuck with the teenager books and the other one turned to the light side of the force. So, there is hope. It has to take them.

LOL The whole time I was reading The Hobbit to Myranda the first time she kept telling me at the end of every chapter that she was scared and wished I hadn't read them to her..... but, after it was all said and done, she required her own set of books.

I have sat down to get my nerve up.... I just discovered a pot of something in the fridge... in the back. Behind the beer. I would like to save the pot. But I haven't opened it yet. I don't remember what was inside.

So, you think kudzu is what drives her to kill the tansy. Luscious bug killing plant that it is?

Your in Arkansas now?

You know Hair, if you was to chop up that tansy plant and put it in the pot with some boiling water - it'd kill any insects that had started to grow in there.

Remember that picture of Flat Frodo in the dwarvling corn? All that stuff behind him is kudzu.

When I do get time, I am going to try to to find a box big enough for my care package to "our troops." I 've done my shopping--I just need a box. I hope they like the stuff; I'm not the shopper that 2JM is.

Funny, but finding the right box is becoming my problem as well. When I first started I had a few boxes lying around and those worked just fine. Now, I'm having to scrounge.

Hope everything settles down for you soon.
