Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Not sure what Claudette did to Port O'Conner, but here it was just a really bad thunderstorm. Is raining worse today than it did yesterday...I can only guess this is all the stuff Claudettes is trailing behind it. Nasty lightening and thunder this morning. Little girl did NOT like it one bit.
At least I don't have to turn the air down too much!
Everything peachy-keen here! I have to work on my church's newsletter today plus contineu with packing. There's a good chance we may have to move into an apartment before the new house is finished. Not looking forward to that. I hate it when things are so chaotic. I was all nice and set in my complacent little world...just like Bilbo. Then hubby had to come home one night and say "let's move."
NOW look where I am....painting and packing. ARGH!
Am reading the Hobbit to Erin. I think she is getting REALLY sick of me and hobbits. She'd rather read about horses and teenagers babysitting. *sigh* I'm the Geek-nerd Mom...just when I thought I had escaped from that...LOL LOL
Think I can talk him into coming to rescue me??

I would send the pictures to your noxious weed office, along with the relieved horse picture! I bet they get all kinds of grumpy people writing in, it would probably tickle them that someone has a good humor about it!

Just now, while I was typing that to Hair up above, Joshua came out of the bathroom and said "The chickens are crying." Now the chickens crying is a very distinct terrible sound and I knew he knew what he was talking about, so without even going to listen I dashed outside to see what was up.
As I approached the side of the house, I saw the big chickens with heads up, looking very alarmed, but not crying. Then, as I went to round the corner of the house, I saw one of the buff Orpingtons (Benny Hen) just crying up a storm! She literally ran straight to me and jumped into my lap, just bawling. I could hear (but not see) the other buff Orpi. I ran around (holding Benny Hen) and found Puffy searching frantically for the other chickens, which she couldn't see because the air conditioning unit had got between her and them! Once she saw me carrying Benny, she dashed toward me, which sent all the other chickens running toward me! I re-united Benny Hen with all the others and off they trotted, perfectly happy.
This happened about 5 minutes ago! Life is full of drama!

Not quite sure why, but they are digging a hole.Do they have any good spots to take dust baths in the field? Maybe they're building themselves a "dust spa"?
