Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

LOL I didn't know Shakespeare wrote for Hee Haw!
To: My back yard
So thankful to hear you are back and O.K. Been praying for you. I've been sleeping this storm off today also. The "not knowing" for such a long time, then the praying, plus the experience left me "drained". Hope you have no property damage and all is well. Say hello to Flat Frodo.

Can anyone recommend a nice, cheap digital camera to me? I've been wanting one and I think I'll get it. "Nice" and "cheap" are mutually exclusive when it comes to digital cameras. I haven't seen a decent digital camera in the under-$100 category. The $100-$200 range seems to be no-man's-land. There are lots of nice cameras in the $200+ range.
Freepmail me if you're interested. I'm on digital cameras #3 and #4 right now, and I ogle all the new cameras out there. One thing I can say right now: don't fall for huge mega-pixel resolutions. Unless you have a real need for LARGE images, you find yourself using the smaller resolutions because they're easier to handle, and are more like snapshots.
Remember, once you have the camera and the storage, all the pictures are free, except for the cost of the batteries. Think about processing charges involved with film cameras.

I
know that, Corin, I just meant she was depressing me, and I, having had my fill of "tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow.... and all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death", was surprised to be depressed by her weird pop cultural whatever from, no doubt, before I was born.
I think I'm getting tired, perhaps I should go to bed.

I know that, Corin... I know you knew that Jen. I was just teasin'. And yes Hee Haw was before you were born.

I just meant she was depressing me, But...but it was funny! Guess you had to be there.

Will be in prayer for your job situation. Know God has something for you. Blessings

To: mstar
Thanks for the prayers mstar. I'm not "between" jobs. This was an interview that came along after I've been sort of casually looking. I'm secure where I am. Just not as happy as I'd like to be.
But prayer is always welcome.

Now we're not ones to go 'round spreadin' rumors.
Why really we're just not the gossipin' kind.
Oh you'll never hear one of us repeating gossip.
So you'd better be sure and listen close the first time.

Hey, Lady Macbeth is funny too... well, no she isn't, she's sort of a medieval Hillary...

Hillary has never been tormented by her guilt.

yes'm...
To: Corin Stormhands
Oh sorry, I can be a bit dense esp. speed reading past threads. Well that's good...not having a job is not fun. Will pray you will find the place the Good Lord has for you. Know He has a place where that contentment will be found.
To: Corin Stormhands
Where, oh where are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over and I thought I found true love.
You met another and pfffft! You were gone.
To: JenB
jen, we got our Canon Poweshot 250 on sale fer around $200, but it's normally $300... I find the Canons easy to use and a good buy for the money...
winmag's right, spend the money up front, save on processin'... don't get caught up in megapixels...
To: mstar
No need to apologize. There's a lot of us to keep up with. And several here, Scott, OT, Ruthy, Hair (and maybe more) are having job "issues," to deal with.
Somedays I think the Lord is trying to teach me just to be content where I am. Otherwise he'd give me the powerball numbers...;-)
To: Corin Stormhands
Eh, give it time, Lady M wasn't haunted right away. Took months or years to get her to the point of "Out, out damned spot!"

To: g'nad
Thanks for the advice, g'nad, I'd like a good camera but I don't know that it's responsible for me to spend $300 - which represents more than a week's wages to me - right now... but on the other hand I never buy anything cool.
