Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Wow. That is awesome. I will probably also cry. It's also hard to think of getting it without Myranda here to share it with. But, *shrugs* her loss.

Take pictures! As soon as I figure out what is up with my eye, I'm gonna have a nice picture taken with my entire family (probably mom and dad too, they contributed some devotional material from their church), holding the flag.

I wish Myranda could be there too, though...she really was an encouragment.

And I bet you cry. Just the way it was folded...in a triangle, you know? Just broke my heart. I stood in the driveway holding it and crying.

I don't know about you, hair, but speaking of "moments", I just about lost it when the Thunderbirds did the diamond overhead thing just as the "Hero" theme music from Spiderman came on their sound system. Dang... that just about did it. I can only take so much.

2J did the hard part!

You know, when I got my flag, I felt really uncomfortable. It took away a bit of my enjoyment of it. I didn't want to be singled out as special, because we couldn't have done what we did without the help of everyone that contributed. Every penny helped. So I'm so glad it appears that everyone is going to get a flag!

We all did what we could do. Some could do a little financially, some did quite a lot financially. I could do almost nothing financially, but I had the time and know-how to do what I could do.

It all worked out to be the best thing I've ever been a part of!

Woops! I didn't mean to make anyone nervous. I find it reassuring that after all the box went through, I still got the nicely folded flag and certificate. The million dollars they sent me was missing, though. :^)

Hubby and Samwise Jr. unfolded it and neatly refolded it, so Jr. could show off her Girl Scout skills. I think yours is bigger than mine, though.

I had a couple of moments.... the swearing in of those new airman was one.... because I am so envious of them.... I would go if I were 20 again.

If my carpet were under a few inches of mud and muck, I might be willing to give that firehose a shot!

I haven't measured it, but it seems unusually long. Mine isn't folded back yet, I don't know how...I'll measure it sometime when I can see better.

Oh, and don't worry about making me nervous. I'm the one with 350 bottles of water during Y2K and I'm currently sitting in a plastic and duct taped room...even I don't take my nervousness seriously! LOL!!
