The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I was really pleased at Otto as the choice for Eowyn too. She really did a good job of it.

I have it on highest authority (hair's), that at Entmoot all dwarves must keep their broadaxe well sheathed.

Mexico would be fun! - Are you Texas folk all close enough together to do any group adventures down there?

Some of you used to peek in at the Poetry thread. It isn't there anymore, and I wanted to post the poem I wrote this morning. Thought I'd post it here. I kind of like it.

To life-time the old woman tends
Her gardens kept to neatest rows
For cultivating life she spends
With water-cans and rigid hoes

Good woman on her care-worn knees
Believing she serves well, all told
She complements the seeds and bees
Waters young sprouts, and loves the old

I'm still not real sure where Wneighbor is at??? Waco maybe. Oh, duh, I guess she's near Crawford. :) And I am 3 hours south of Bear. We will have to try and see what can be worked out.

Yeah, somewhat. When they have the patience for me. The Elves are gracious, but the dwarves can be pickish. ;)

MBY has long been a part of this esteemed group!

I can't exactly remember who was at the door when Argh came in!

That's very nice, MBY. It sure gives the feel of an old woman who knows her garden well. I hope at our next house I can have a garden. We want a nice FLAT back yard that is at most, just a step down from the house.

Hi everyone! Work was pretty good. A little cube-farmy, but otherwise fine... we had a big storm last night but I slept through it...

Maybe the poets all just got sidetracked by a muse.... that happens to creative people.
