The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Poor Frodo's "fold" is starting to become apparent! Maybe y'all need to be a little more careful with his package.

*tongue sticking out* I beat ya to it, Master Dwarf!
I'm packing it up here, so I'll see you all later!
My mom just called to announce that we have finally gotten our cable service back (after SIX LONG DAYS). Spongebob was sorely missed in our home. :)

A bit of the
Rocky Horror Ringer Show.
Once the movie proper started, the wisecracks were fast and furious, as were great cheers as people saw actors they liked (particular shrieks for Sean Astin, Elijah Wood, Sean Bean, and Billy Boyd. Surprisingly few squeals for Orlando). There were many references to the fanfic The Very Secret Diaries, Monty Python and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, among countless other Pop Culture remarks, as well as a sustantial Arwen-bashing.[Heh! -ksen] Other memorable quotes included (in no particular order): (as the camera slowly pans over Caradharas) Ok, we've established there are mountains!
(as Gandalf catches Glamdring) By the Power of Greyskull! I have the Power!
(upon seeing Faramir) It's Diet Boromir! Tastes Great, Less Annoying!
(at the death of the first orc at Helms Deep) Oh my god! They killed Kenny!
(Sam: What's that horrid stench?) It's Frodo's feet!
(entrance of Wormtongue) Sorry Jack, Chucky's back!
(as Frodo coaxes Gollum) Here boy! *whistles*
(Theoden: Where is my son?, cut to shot of a flower) He turned into a flower?!
So will our RoTK viewing be like this?

Heh! - You forget, that Ramius and I watched TTT with this same group in Portland during that Sean Astin appearance!
They are nuts, and much of it was funny ~for a bit~ .... The theater manager eventually shut the movie off, came out and told them to knock it off, remember? Perhaps that inspired them to book the theater again for a 'hecklers only' viewing.
And yes, Arwen bashing was standard.... and they failed to mention my very favorite Arwen-bash:
Eowyn: I fear neither death nor pain.
Aragorn: What do you fear my lady?
CROWD: Elves!

You know what is funny is that they did not make our joke about the editing....
I should have given them "MEANWHILE...."

Found out that the safety guy had to cancel due to something coming up. Read a bunch of standard procedures. I didn't have a computer so I was stuck reading technical stuff...ick!
Thought it was pretty funny, though. These people have a procedure for taking a bomb threat with a check list and everything! I think I'll just say "you have the wrong number."
To: Overtaxed
Oh - The Morton Chemical plant I worked at had a procedure for bomb threats! - I only worked there for a short time as a receptionist, and the procedure for either a bomb threat or an accident was under the glass on my desk. I don't remember what the chemical was that we made, it was used to bleach paper and in the propellant in airbags.
They had weekly evacuation drills though, so I gathered whatever it was was caustic as heck.

I guess in most places it would be the receptionist who would take the call. I've never seen it written up in a Safety SOP before.
To: Overtaxed
So what are you supposed to do?
