The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I just finished Harry Potter 1 recently too. I picked it up in the airport on my way home. And then tonight I got the second one. I hope I can get to the latest one before I get any spoilers on it.

Good night OT!

Tomorrow my wife and her sisters were just going to go to that restaurant for lunch and have a Reuben in his "honor." Other folks heard about it and at last count they were up to about 10 people. I love that Corin, I hope she does that in years to come..... I still have a scotch in my step-dad's daily favorite glass on St Patricks day, because he loved Scotch, and he died on St. Patrick's day..... Funny that his kids didn't recognize anything special about it and want it (they had lots of other little things I guess) but I think of him when I see it and never use it for anything else..... when we were packing all the stuff up that hadn't been taken home, it was still there, and I couldn't garage sale it.
I don't have a real ritual for my mom.

told her it gets minerals from the water heater in your food. I thought minerals were a good thing! (I use hot tap water too, but never cared about the minerals before!)

Good morning.
To: HairOfTheDog
Morning! Happy Monday! Made it to work with a minimum of dog slobber. Big'ol is working on pics- shouldn't be too much longer. The dogs are settling in. They are remarkable animals: absolutely fearless, amazingly adaptable, sweet temperament, and already protective of us. What a great breed.
To: Overtaxed
Marvelous report!
To: HairOfTheDog
Well, I don't guess they'd kill you...but it's just like the stuff that accumulates inside a coffee pot or a tea kettle...that white hard crust? It can make your food taste off, from what I hear. I have never noticed it myself. I use hot from the tap water in my Hamburger Helper.
It was just idle chit chat...but her saying that about the minerals evaporating was just a hoot.

Good Morning one and all!
Rocko, I don't believe we've ever met, but hullo all the same!
How is everyone today? Have a good holiday?
To: HairOfTheDog
Horses begging for dinner at the window...Heh, that is too funny!
To: ItsOurTimeNow
Have a good holiday? Yep, ours was good.
Yesterday the boys participated in a patriotic bicycle parade...

BTW, note they are barefoot? I don't let them run around barefoot on hot asphault normally, but they jumped off a jupiter jump and onto their bikes for the parade!
