The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good Morning and Happy 4th

Part of my celebration is to head to the fancy Yelm theatre to watch the next Governor of California's latest flick.

Hey Governor! Come up to Washington, we need some
hasta la vista for our current Gov too...
To: HairOfTheDog
Yeah, never been to the Yelm theatre...supposed to be really nice.
And I love Arnie. Wish I could run his campaign! What a hoot that'd be. And how could you miss?

Thanks. Looks like they've got me all set up. I've been working on the first page and hope to upload it later.
Forum said Nucleus works for blogs. Need to go check it out.
What HTML editor do you use? I had Matrix (Bear's recommendation) on my old PC, but my free trial ran out. I'm trying not to spend hundreds of bucks on a website that has yet to make any money.

Gotta run folks. 4th stuff at the pool, BBQ at s-i-l. I'll be back around this evening.
Wife is working so I don't think I'm gonna try takin' the boys to fireworks by myself. Will see them tomorrow night at King's Dominion.
God Bless America.

Happy 4th, everyone.

HHAPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!I hope everyone with furry children manage to get through the night with little to no fanfare. *grin* It's tough on those critters, that's for sure!
I'm boiling and baking ribs as we speak, since the weather doesn't look like it's going to cooperate for BBQing. Nevertheless, a proper Independence Day feast will be had. I'd like to extend an open invitation to everyone in the Hole today to stop on by my house if you're in the area! :)
I'll set out some grub since I'm not sure when I'll get some time to stop back in today. WHEW! It's HOT in that kitchen!

I am currently using Dreamweaver, but here are a couple of more affordable HTML editors I've used.
HTML-Kit -
http://www.chami.com/html-kit/ Was free when I first used it about 3-4 years ago, now looks like there is a registration fee (less than $50). Don't see anything about if the trial version is limited in any way. Very nice full-featured editor. All your major tags are easily accessible via tabs along the top.
CoffeeCup -
http://www.coffeecup.com/html-editor/ Lots and lots of goodies in this one, which is also less than $50. They offer a 45-day trial period.
Both programs allow you to save custom snippets (pieces of frequently used code that you can enter with a click), have utilities that will check your code for errors, can be set up to upload your pages, and lots more.

Fireworks spark 3-acre blaze

A smoky brush fire kept firefighters on guard Thursday afternoon as it crept close to several homes near Littlerock. The fire, which began shortly after 3 p.m., burned about 4 acres of woodland east of the intersection of Delphi Road and 105th Avenue, north of Littlerock. The fire burned toward several property lines until the wind changed directions. Investigators determined that fireworks had ignited the blaze. Dry conditions also were a factor, said Koshare Lomnicki, a state Department of Natural Resources information officer. "It's just an indication of how dry things are," she said. |
Not that the Firemen aren't cute.....
