The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I'm consoling myself with a McDonald's cheeseburger, fries and sundae. Sounds appropriate to me! I don't even know what else to say ... it just plain SUCKS! {{hugs}}
To: RMDupree
Well that stinks!
But the cheeseburger sounds good.
To: trini
Yeah. I imagine he'd love to see if his theory is correct, so he could rub it in our faces!! LOL!!

I'm already working on the sundae! I'm even more depressed because they forgot my extra peanuts.
It's the little things, you know?

To: proud_2_B_texasgal
Ok, gotta get some work done .. lol. (Anybody sorry they showed ME how to post images???)
To: trini
they make those cereal bags impossible to open without spilling the whole bag of cereal. Cereal and snack crackers! They need to send that technology along to Fort Knox to protect the country's gold supply!
To: SuziQ
LOL!

Maybe, but I warn you, if he fixes it as fast as he cuts the grass around here, you're gonna be down for a while! I know he also has 2 others to check,2 codes to write for others and a server to install for Heather. I told him he could do yours first though ;-)
To: All
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Help yerself to some cake.

What?....Ooops......sorry....

That looks like me and my daughter, Becky. She'd be the one with the banana! LOL!
*Seriesly*, I know MickeyDs is not known for the brain-power of its staff, but how hard is it to add a packet of peanuts into a bag?

I'm thinking about taking the old video card out of the other computer and putting it in mine to see if it even attempts to override.
I do NOT want to send the PC off becaise I just KNOW with my luck it will never return and my hard drive will be lost forever with all of my pics and stuff!

I'm home! Got a beautiful brass hasp for the egg collection door. Very small and lies almost flush against the side, so as to not detract from my beautiful sunflower artwork!!
I'll post a picture when I get it on...surprise surprise.
We went to mcDs too...got the boys some burgers. I'm eating left over walmart chicken and a slice of colby cheese (with marks where someone nibbled on it then put it back in the fridge), a half a cup of leftover yogurt and a coke.

Good morning...
Sorry to hear about your 'puter being croaked. Did it turn on at all when you tried it, and just not have a picture, or did it not come on at all? With lightning, it's hard to tell without testing every component, but it would not surprise me if the motherboard was fried. That can be $100 or less to replace (for parts); I would be willing to bet also that your modem was fried. The phone line is another pathway for the lightning to get into your 'puter; I had one once that, after a close lightning strike, had nothing wrong with it except for the modem. The modem was toast, but replacing it fixed everything.
Anyway, hope it doesn't turn out to be anything too serious, or expensive.
