The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Just don't spam her!

Look! An honest semi-precious! Now you know, you're
meant to come back.
And Nemesis did suck, it was worse than Insurrection.

I hope you're not calling that right-hand picture in the second row lembas.
To: Overtaxed
Hmmm... I was gonna bring a sicty-page story snippet I've written. Think I should pass on that?

the friend I am going to visit is not Christian, and just keep it in your prayers, if you would, that I might be used as a witness to her. I know your post wasn't directed to me, but I wish to offer up my prayers as well.

I liked Insurrection. But my favorite TNG movie is still First Contact.
To: JenB
Heh....I suppose you could ask her politely if she would like to read it. :)
To: CindyDawg
The "nanner" pudding was made especially for Corin. I made sure to add plenty of nilla wafers (
lembas) to it as well!
There's plenty for everyone though!

The only TNG movie I've ever seen is the one where Kirk buys it.

Sigh. OK, here's my last words on the subject, addressed to no one in particular.
I have said I don't like spamming. I'm not talking really about the posting four or five posts right at the 0 mark...I'm talking about people who will start from ten or fifteen posts out and seem to do it partly because "no one can tell me what to do". If that applies to you...well, know that it bothers some of us. Not just me. I can live with it, it isn't enough to make me want to leave, but it's mildly annoying. OK? But the less serious spam is kinda fun.
My thoughts on bringing stuff back here...for the most part, no one has argued religion here, I know (and freely admit). I've had a few people make remarks about my faith (and you know who you are), but for the most part in fun and to my face. However, when people start discussing it, it makes me nervous because I don't want it to TURN into arguments. There are few things that can tear people apart like religous disagreements. Other subjects are much less a part of who we are, and I don't think they can be compared to religion. So maybe I'm overly "sensitive" about the subject, to use my own word.
2J's post had some history behind it, I think. For myself, I feel like I inadvertantly got on Carton's bad side long ago, I'm not even sure how. Maybe because I stated I didn't like Gone With the Wind and an actor she likes. I didn't mean to come across as snippy, but apparently I did. Ever since, I'm half afraid to disagree with her. I'm probably reading more into things than she really feels. If I DID offend her somehow (as I feel I did, but as I said, I'm not sure how), I'd like to extend a public apology. We all have different opinions and likes. I for one enjoy hearing the differences and don't expect to convert everyone else to my own opinions. Life would be awfully boring if we all thought the same.
OK, I'm done.
To: RMDupree
is that lembas around that banana pudding?
To: Lil'freeper
I agree. Nemesis was not very good. The opening action scene (the chase) looked like something I could have filmed with my kids in the back yard. Really cheesy, cheap graphics.
To: Overtaxed
There are two forms of lembas in the menu today! LOL!

Let's all have some lunch...Thanks, Ruthy. Corn especially looks good.

No, I would appreciate prayer from anyone. It's really hard to witness to friends because it matters so much. But my best friend became a Christian over a year ago, so I do know God answers prayers...
I am incredibly excited, though, I have known this friend for almost four years and we're finally going to meet.

Insurrection was tolerable mostly because it didn't violate the ~sacred texts~ (my pet paperbacks :P). But it wasn't more than a made-for-tv movie.
