Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

He is a perfectly good-looking but completely ordinary fella. Put some fluffy blonde locks on him and some armor and voila- a Hunky Man of Gondor drool-fest!I think it is Hair who says the same thing about Viggo as Aragorn. You take away the hair, the costume and the grime from Aragorn, and he's just Viggo, and not very interesting!

You're welcome! :-) I think it's such a cute picture.
Ok now I'm confused again. I'm trying to figure out where that scene will be in ROTK. In an Epilogue/What Became of them All or something? Has anyone heard about that?
And didn't I hear somewhere that Sean's real kids play Sam's kids? I didn't remember that until now.
To: RMDupree
we are completely Dwarfless today. This is terrible! It's a little disconcerting not having a stout dwarf with his trusty axe standing by.
To: SuziQ
I might have said that! Ha!
Back from town.... hum dee dumm....
To: SuziQ
I'm so happy. I've had such a lovely day talking Tolkien and the Movie.
Sigh...
To: Overtaxed
I sent you an email...a pretty lousy attempt at not tonguing...

I can't find it right now, but I'm pretty sure Celeborn departed at a different time...and really, nobody even noticed his passing.Try the foreword of LoTR.

What a great day.

If I can get Steve to take the boys to Awanas...I could go see the movie again...

Am I the only one that thinks he didn't look that bad??? I didn't think he looked too bad in FoTR. But, I didn't like his attitude - much too stern. After Tolkein's Elrond, this one just leaves too much room for those nasty elf-basher comments.
not from me though I don't bash elves.

So, whatchya doin' with all those new CD-R's?

To: Wneighbor
We're all gonna have to get some of those drool buckets!! LOL Remember those from Sat. Night Live? Years ago?

Ok now I'm confused again. I'm trying to figure out where that scene will be in ROTK. In an Epilogue/What Became of them All or something? Has anyone heard about that?During the Director's commentary of FoTR PJ says that Galadriel has some voice over work at the end of the trilogy. they were talking about this during the intro to FoTR and he said that the trilogy would be bookended by Galadriel. So I assume that Galadriel goes on and tells what happens to our intrepid Fellowship at the end of RoTK.
This is just a guess mind you.

When Elrond learned the choice of his daughter, he was silent, though his heart was grieved and found the doom long feared none the easier to endure. But when Aragorn came again to Rivendell he called him to him, and he said: "My son, years come when hope will fade, and beyond them little is clear to me. And now a shadow lies between us. Maybe, it has been appointed so, that by my loss the kingship of Men may be restored. Therefore, though I love you, I say to you: Arwen Undomiel shall not diminish her life's grace for less cause. She shall not be the bride of any Man less than the King of both Gondor and Arnor. To me then even our victory can bring only sorrow and parting - but to you hope of joy for a while. Alas, my son! I fear that to Arwen the Doom of Men may seem hard at the ending."
Doesn't sound like the same elf to me.
To: RMDupree
we wantssss Samwise Gamgee! Ruthy, I was listening to that intro that Sean Astin does on lotr.net. It sounds just like a guy I used to work with. Someday, I'm going to get him to call you on the phone!

What will become of our fellowship after ROTK? Is it breaking? Has it already begun?
I may likely bawl like a baby at Entmoot.
To: 2Jedismom
That's the part I was thinking about. It leaves things open to some interpretation, but it sounded like to me Celeborn might have been on the last boat-load of elves outta here. That's why I thought maybe he buried Arwen. That would be so sad. No one should have to bury their own grandchild. snif snif
