Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

That makes sense, it just seemed a nicer wood than what you see now, even though not a fancy rifle.
My Remington 700 has one of those plastic resin type finishes, it looks Ok, but, wonderfully, is almost maintenance free. I'm glad I bought it before they started putting the dumb*ss little scrolls on the barrel or reciever or wherever they've done that now.
You and g'nad are very knowledgable about this kind of stuff.

I sure enjoyed having Frodo with us on the trip. The other moms who were with the girls got a kick out of him. I wanted to get a group picture with the girls, but never got the chance. I did get a picture with the wax figure of John Paul Gaultier, the fashion designer who did the costumes for the movie
The Fifth Element. We had gone to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum just after we got into town on Fri., but I didn't want to bring Frodo into the museum. On Sun. morning, they had the figures of Gaultier and Elton John outside, so I took Frodo over. The guys at the door thought it was great! One reason I took the picture with the Gaultier figure was because he's wearing a SKIRT. Kind of looks like a kilt, so I thought it would be appropriate for the thread!
At the Bronx Zoo, I got pics with a huge rhino statue that looked like a Warg, the elephants, and a big stone eagle (Gwaihir). I even found some fell beasts; a snow leopard and some grizzly bears. I ran out of time and didn't make it to the lions and tigers.
I think he had a good time, and certainly drew some interesting looks whenever I unfolded him. One girl wanted HER picture taken with him, so her sister took one of her.
I just realized how late it is. I gotta get to bed. Do you know who wants him next?

I think you are right, didn't Legolas' quiver have that kind of stuff on it?
To: SuziQ
"the fashion designer who did the costumes for the movie The Fifth Element" I particularly liked the costume worn by the redheaded female right at the beginning of the movie.
You guys really went around, you must have been exhausted when the NY trip was over.

Sounds great SuziQ! - Can't wait to see the pictures!
Not sure! His next firm date is Aug 1 with Corin at Kitty Hawk!
We can try to get him somewhere good for the fireworks
WHO WANTS TO TAKE FRODO TO FIREWORKS?

To: Lil'freeper
Oh well....it happens. Gee....wonder what you're going to do with all that cheesecake!
The radio weather babe said we're supposed to get as much rain tonight and tomorrow as we did during the whole month of June. I knew I should have invested in an ark!
To: Overtaxed
Ack. More rain? I don't think I can handle any more. *shudder*
Did your samples run?
To: Lil'freeper
Yes, the test samples ran. I'll put on the real samples this afternoon.
Sure hope we don't get any wind with this rain.
To: Overtaxed
Good Morning, OT!
I hope you're not boycotting me! LOL!!
I'm only part Canadian.
