The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Here's a website with a list of stuff to do in Brevard County. It's a little dated because our area code is now (321) and not (407).
At the bottom of the list is something called the Valiant Air Command. There is a warbird museum with warplanes from WWI and up. It is located on the way to Kennedy Space Center so you could combine those trips.

A clean barn is a happy barn!
It is all done and the pallets laid out for new hay. Whew!

Floor mats are still a little wet but I moved them back in....

Hay will be stacked to the rafters I think to fit... Bought three tons the first year and that was too much.... this way I can still have an aisle all the way 'round, I think.

Now I am wishing I had scrubbed the doors on the inside [grumble] didn't notice how dirty they were till I looked at the picture.

I moved the coop! Matthew actually pushed the wheelbarrow and I put the coop out on one of our garden beds. The idea being they'll poop on the garden bed and then we can till it in and let it compost over the winter. I hosed down the spot where it was, as you suggested. Good idea. It wasn't gunky at all though...really, after one week you could barely tell there were two chickens there. Partly because they free range during the day, I guess.
So now the coop is nestled in the midst of our garden and looks right nice out there! I'll take a picture.

The museum of Naval Aviation is absolutely the most fun place!! We've been several times when we've been to SSQ's family reunion at Perdido Key FL. If you decide to go, call ahead to see if the Blue Angels will be practicing. The air base is the home for one of the squadrons. I don't know if they practice in the wintertime as frequently as they do in the summer. We always go to see them. It's free and they usually have practices at least once a week. It is an awesome display and the boys would love it, though you'd have to get ear plugs for them because it is SO loud!
Last year when we were there, the pilots came into the Museum and signed autographs for those lucky enough to get in line soon enough. We got a poster and a brochure signed by one of them.

Nice looking digs for Bay and the pony! You've worked HARD the last 24 hours. You'd probably enjoy sitting down tonight and watching a couple of movies ;o)

That's a cute little coop-let for the babies; matching and everything!

What a nice place your horses have to live in, Hair.
Where is their beer cooler?
I have half a mind to jump in the Boortz/abortion thread, some of them are pretty upset at each other over there, maybe I can add to the mayhem.

Yes, 2J makes artistic little houses for the chicks, which sound fairly cute after all.
We had chickens around when I was a little kid, although they were meant for war.
