Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Blueberry cake
1 butter cake mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 package cream cheese (8 oz)
1 package instant vanilla pudding mix (3.5 oz)
2 cups blueberries
Mix the cake mix, oil, eggs, cream cheese and pudding mix. Batter will be stiff. Fold in blueberries. Pour into a greased bunt cake pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
mmmmm...blueberries...we are heading out after lunch to go pick some.

I think the Dwarves are rather proud of their "poo" moments.
I know I am... sometimes I call friends and family over to gaze upon my work...

Good grief!! Were you in that barn all night!? Purdy much! - Woke up ready to get back to work on it!
Pulled everything I could out and hosed down the floor... waiting now for it to dry so I can put the rubber mats back in the aisle. Then pictures!

Mmmmmm! That sounds WONDERFUL, mrsnad! Thank you!
I gotta tell you what happened with my chickens...
Night before last, we put our 6 week olds out in their tractor for the first time. Both of them stood at the chicken wire and cried pitifully. So I took their brooder box (which was the only bed they've ever known, an old TV box) and put it in the tractor, under the roost and put them in it. They were still crying, but I still left them. Very hard...I never did that with my two jedis!
I was relieved to find them awake and doing fine the next morning, out of their box and pecking around in the tractor.
Then last night, just as it was getting to be dusk, I couldn't find them! They had been rummaging around in the yard, with the tractor door open. Joshua ultimately found them snuggled together in the NEST BOX of their tractor! They went to bed themselves!
I threw their brooder box out!
Such good chickens!

Ha! Before I put them in the tractor, they were standing at the door of the porch, wanting in! They were ready to go to bed and were just standing there waiting for me to take them in! Poor babies!
If I sit down, Jar Jar will come and get me!
Now I'm glad they know where they can go to bed...they literally go to bed with the chickens! We don't even go to bed that early! Now they can just go to bed when they want and I just have to shut the door to the tractor before we go in!
