Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

LOL...I just got a phone call from my daughter. She was almost in tears. She was suppose to be here at 9:00, we were going to ride. She can't catch her horse:) She is working with the filly that my crazy mare had. WE rode last night at the arena in town, so now I guess Dot has decided, I know what's coming so I am not going to be caught. That is so frustrating. Sometimes when I hear of that happening to people I am glad I only have 5 acres, although there have been times when even on 5 acres I couldn't catch one. LOL...I don't think I made her feel better when I laughed.

Well, I forgot all about a fishing derby we'd signed up for a couple of weeks ago. I told Steve last night that I wanted to go pick blueberries this Sat (not even thinking about the horseback riding) and he reminded me that we could go pick berries, but we were obligated for the fishing derby which starts at 10am.

So I couldn't have gone horseback riding anyway. SOB!

Oh SHUCKS! Maybe some other time? Maybe some evening even, like you said? I am so disappointed...I really wanted to go and I could just taste that dewberry cobbler!

Watched Best In Show tonight. Hilarious movie!

I just put that on my Netflix queue! It came up as a recommendation under another movie I was considering. It looked to be a funny movie.

No, problem, maybe next Sat. Maybe they will still be there then. I'll plan on checking it out on Thurs. or so to see if they are still there. Although just going to where they are is the prettiest place around here to ride, so even if the blackberries are gone the ride is fun.

You know Steve works with water quality and is getting his masters in environmental science, specializing in rainwater run-off and collection. Part of his "networking" that he does with school and such is being part of a group of volunteers that sample streams and rivers for water quality. Well, this group of volunteers are the ones sponsering this fishing derby...so I am kinda obligated to go...for his sake, anyway.

We signed up weeks ago and I just plum forgot.

I was over at the "Day in the Life of Pres. Bush" just now, I mostly lurk on that thread although I post sometimes.

But I can tell it's getting close to the election!

I mean the disrupters and DU trolls that appear and dissappear!

It's even getting international!

Then I was were this poster from another country mad a direct threat against the President. I'm urged to pray even harder for not only the President but for this country and the folks who post on all threads at Free Republic.

I have a feeling things are going to get even nastier at FR as well as else where as the election gets closer.

That's why I'm glad we have the "Hobbit Hole" thread to come to the get away from all that!

Not even with grain she won't come? - Poor dear.... She's gonna be so mad when she catches that horse.

My pony is hard to catch without grain, and sometimes even with grain she will jump away when I try to sneak the rope over... argh.... Not much work ethic there either. Bay Man is not hard to catch.... harder to get rid of than to catch. He likes work when he feels good.

Pippin, I agree. We can't let the Hobbit Hole die after ROTK comes out...we're going to need each other during this next election.
