The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

But to rewrite history by forcing people to change their thinking under duress is thought crime of klintonian proportions. Well said. However, "Grand Old Partisan" the author of the "definitive" work on the history of the Republican party would "remind" you that all Confederates were Democrats and that they were no different than the Democrats of today.
No. Honestly. I'm not making that up.

No such thread? Ruh roh! What did you say Hair?
To: 300winmag; Corin Stormhands
All right... do we really want to start this conversation here?

Oh, I dunno. Is it any worse than chickens or horses? Maybe. Maybe not.
But I gotta run anyway. I was just printing out some stuff for the pool board meeting.
Later.

However, "Grand Old Partisan" the author of the "definitive" work on the history of the Republican party would "remind" you that all Confederates were Democrats and that they were no different than the Democrats of today. While I don't attend those topics, I would question his opinion. The activist Democrats of today are statists, and in the case of the klinton wing, stalinists. Antebellum Democrats would be aghast at that philosophy, if they could even comprehend it. So therefore, they are different.

" all Confederates were Democrats and that they were no different than the Democrats of today." How come today, the South is mostly Republican? Does he think everyone switched states?
Well, they were all still Democrats in the South when I was a kid. And they were most honorable folks, which is why they had conscience enough to switch to Republican when the Left (mostly from the North) took over the Democratic party.

The thread was pulled.... I didn't do that!
I did take a nap though, I see I did not miss the civil war this time around!

Good, we don't need stinky hobbits.
I just stir-fried some pork cubes in soy sauce and Asian spices. Yum!
