Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

It's nice again today but it's supposed to start raining again tomorrow. *Sigh* Not very Frodo-friendly weather, I'm afraid.

Hehhehee, I get to have the 'heat' lamps on today since the boys aren't here. We have a couple banks of incandenscent track lights that we never burn because they heat the room up too much. I'm gonna be toasty warm for a change!

MTV Awards: Gollum Acceptance Video!

Thanks to hard work of Staffer Asfaloth we can now show you a short clip from the MTV Movie Awards followed by Andy Serkis' and Gollum's acceptance video. As most people will know by now (and if not I'm sorry but I'll spoil it for you) Gollum won 'Best Digital Performance'! I know alot of Brits... but they're all either Royal Marines or Greenjackets, so maybe I haven't got the most diverse spectrum of British mukkas, but I alway enjoy their sense of humor... I didn't find them any more refined than Yanks... just some cultural differences... and these are the officers I'm talking about...
Besides any country that has givenn the world Blackadder can't be all that refined...

I've been thinking about this subject. I think mostly the modern culprit is carbonated soft drinks, and the rate at which we consume them. Sooo much sugar, and what happens when carbon dioxide in the bloodstream breaks down?
Fats too.
Fats, in the past, were a staple that was much harder to acquire and carefully saved. A lot of work went into processing table fats. Fats are a good thing in our diet. But they should be less available, for good health.
