Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I just am not gonna make it.
Trying to stay awake so I don't fall asleep and neglect to feed the ponies! It is hot out. Too nice to put them in this early.

No, no... the English are just, well, refined. I wouldn't want to scare her! You'd like her though. She's basically a nicer, English version of me. And she's a better writer.

There's a night crew present, but not for long apparently... but, but....but....I have a story...
So, you remember the trauma last week: baseball vs. youth choir?
Tonite, I get this call from the coaches' wife. We're supposed to have a game tomorrow at 8:00 p.m.
But there is also an 8th grade dance. Apparently it is "the" dance. They have to dress up and for some apparently it is a "limosine" dance. For @#$%@%&@%^ 8th graders! [Excuse me, Mrs. Butthead, what do you mean you don't know how your daughter got pregnant?]
Three of the guys, with their @!$&*$^% parents permission are skipping the game to go to the dance. So we forfeit.
Jr. has now decided to go to the dance since there is no game. He would not have considered it otherwise. I told him he learned a big lesson about how much integrity he has and they don't.

Speaking of the English, just saw a commercial for a new Rowan Atkinson movie, "Johnny English". He plays a bumbling secret agent. Looks funny!

Sheesh! And why exactly do 8th graders need to dance?
I went to my first dance last year, at college. Huge disappointment. Loud music, strobe lights, and what they called "dancing", well, you can see that in the new Matrix movie.
And those kids - what about commitments?

Actually... part of the vision I tried to catch was beautiful. Tragic, and beautiful, like an Elf.

But they have superior literature... Tolkien, Shakespeare, Lewis, all those others. Like Lord Byron. Only romantic poet I like...
