The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Thanks Suzi. I think I will be reading them before ROTK. Well actually I'm going to "cheat" and listen to the unabridged audio CDs. I'm going to go look for them tonight. I love listening to audio books at work...helps the time fly by.

It's not his roots...it's just a shadow!

Uh huh. And would this "shadow" makes his eyebrows go brown as well?

...I think...

ElfBash!

Don't be talkin' 'bout elves with root showin' now. I don't mind seein' those roots myself.

just bring the steer to the table and bring me a knife..."

LOL!! You sound like one of my brothers. He'd say "Just hit it over the head, drag it across the coals and bring it to me."

Isn't it "shadow and flame"?

In which case, how could "flame" be used in describing an Elf? Hmmmm...

And you know if the two of us will just agree on this we can go ahead and move the official number up to, say, something like - 75! LOL

That works for me! 50 is looking 'younger' every day!!

Now don't go there. At least not with Legolas. Somebody tried that on another thread the other day. I don't buy it.

Them other elves are a different story...

I think the lovely elf probably needs to be consoled by a fellow elf with root shadows and darker eyebrows.

And with that thought, my hair can remain untouched for another couple of days. Suddenly my dark roots don't look near as bad hehehehehe

If you don't want to spend the $ on the audio tapes, check your local public library. I got TTT on audio tape before our trip down South this past summer. It was wonderful hearing it rather than reading it. The only problem was that tape 5, which included Helm's Deep, was broken. AARGH! I'm going to look for the Fellowship on Audio next time I'm there. Meanwhile, I'll just keep reading!

DT, we just need to go on sabbatical to study elf root issues. Never mind the elfbashing, there's scholarly investigation that needs to be done!

I try to stay away from liquor if I can help it. But I love those sweet drinks. Kahlua and Cream is my favorite.

You and my son-in-law would get on famously on that issue. I can't sit across from him when we go for steak.

But, you'd get into one of those branch-of-the-military disputes.... he's other-than-marine.
