The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I get a real kick out of Billy Boyd's greeting. All the Hobbits have such wonderful voices.

Orlando Bloom has a very....ahem...nice greeting as well. OK, OK, I'll give him that. His voice is delectable!

I love the Bill Cosby : Himself video.

"Dad is great, he give us the chocolate cake!"

"I was getting a cookie for you."

"My bobbom wip ih uhn de floobub."

Gotta love it!

Now 50 (which is what I'll be in July) now THAT's middle aged!!

I don't think so. 50 is middle aged only if you live to 100. I'm going on past that.

Besides 50 is getting too close so I have to move the number up.

And you know if the two of us will just agree on this we can go ahead and move the official number up to, say, something like - 75! LOL

Ah yes, Boyd's greeting is great too!

And I agree...Bloom's voice is pretty darn good too. I think the whole package is, IMO ;-) *waiting for the elfbashing to start*

OK, here goes:

His roots are showing in that pic. What would Haldir say?! It's an outrage, I tell ya!

Or how about:

He needs an axe. Badly.

We read all the books aloud to our two younger kids (12 and 14). We read FoTR, then part of the Silmarillion to prepare for the movie. After seeing FoTR, we read both TTT and RoTK. I guess I must not have been paying very close attention during the reading of FoTR because I'm re-reading it now, and some of it, I don't remember at all. It will be neat to read it through, then watch the Extended version again!

I would recommend that you read The Hobbit and the whole Trilogy before RoTK comes out!

I would love to see Legolas smiling in the boat with Gimli! - When you have a minute!

I'm still wading my way through the New Line auction and merchandise site. I'd like some of the prop arms and armor that they'll be selling off. They've got thousands of pieces, so prices can't be THAT high (I hope).

I noticed they have LOTR bobbleheads for everybody except Legolas. Is that good or bad?

Of course, all this dwarf/elf bashing is fun, but remember that by the end of ROTK, the two are best buds for all eternity.

Yes and truly. I love him for his mind.

You know what they say, it's not the size of the wav file, it's the ISP you're using. Hehehe. ;)
