The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

OK Sam, But I do hope that if there is something you want to talk about, you would just come right out with it!
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
You are reacting the way I was. Seems very few except Okies and Texans know what it is. I already knew they didn't know. My grama used to mail it to me when I lived in Washington. And I've traveled enough on business to find out that lots of places just don't have it. It's in big stores but not in smaller ones. I used to have to go to Wisconsin really often on business - so much so that I would like to go to grocery stores and just get stuff I like because I got tired of eating out. I found Rotel but never the extra hot up there. just plain.

I really like egg salad sandwiches. I just made one and I am tempted to have another one. I forget sometimes, about egg salad sandwiches.
To: Sam Cree
I never heard of it either. <P.You should have had it. It's easy to obtain in Florida. Bought lots of it there. Now, run down to your little Publix and get some Sam! :-) just kidding. (but it is there.)

Well, I ran the Rocky Mountains through all of Utah too, so there isn't room for Salt Lake either. The Morg aren't gonna like that...
To: HairOfTheDog
I haven't had one of those in years. Sounds good. But, I don't want to have to make the egg salad. I had 3 more chalupas. (I get in ruts.)

It would be a prettier state the way I made it! ;~D
Never fear, I think ecurbh is gonna prolly make something beautiful for a map.

Morg? As in [5th]-type Borg? Or is it a play on "orc"?

I cheated on the egg salad, just half-scrambled the eggs up and microwaved them... quicker than boiling them. and tastes good anyhow!
To: JenB
Your first guess is correct. From the days of the Morg wars "resistance is futile"...
To: HairOfTheDog
I like curry powder in egg salad. Did you mix scrambled eggs with mayo?
To: Sam Cree
Yeah - just mixed the scrambled eggs with mayo, and I put a bit of lemon pepper in it.
To: Sam Cree
And a slice of cheese. :~)
To: Corin Stormhands
Death is irrelevant, too, since there's always postmortem baptism!

Sometimes sad things will happen, but they are not so bad that one doesn't continue to enjoy life and remain very happy and even content.
My apologies for sounding melodramatic. But thanks.
To: JenB
I don't want anyone doing rituals on me when I am too dead to be there.

Eggs are in Lisa's hands now...
The kids (all five) came charging into the driveway all excited and thrilled! Everyone was talking and it was so wonderfully chaotic, over just those eggs!
I'll post pics when the Big Day arrives.
To: 2Jedismom; HairOfTheDog
Funny, we were just talking about egg salad. Not with pets, of course! The appearance of your post was slightly startling, though.

This was the high point of my day...
me and my neighbor, Junior, who I hired to help for a few days were pilin' up trees and brush when he screamed, "sanke"...
I turned and saw him pointing... about six feet from him and 15 feet from me was a copperhead coiled to strike... I pulled my .357 and fired instinctively... didn't even aim... blew the snakes lower jaw off and sent him writhing... Jr screamed "shoot him again! shoot him again!..." I said the snake's dead, I ain't gonna waste a round... he kept screamin' "shoot him again! shoot him again!..." so I drew the .357, aimed this time, and blew his head clean off...
Jr said "I ain't never gonna piss you off"... I said "Good idea..."
He was a three footer... not too shabby...
