Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I thank God that my mother never had to leave me in daycare, but a lot of people just don't have that ability. Some people forget that conservatism can be compassionate.

Yeah, me too. My parents travelled alot on business, and so often left us at home, but they spent every minute they could with us kids, they loved us with all their hearts.
Some of the folks masquerading as compassionate over there, I don't think they have the smallest idea of what compassion really is.

Not much I guess....
I'm sick today with a sore throat and a headache. Work was no fun. It's pouring rain and I am so lethargic it's not even funny. And my library books are overdue. I want to write a letter to a friend but I know I'll be so pessimistic she'll think something's wrong... ergh...

Have you called her before? Maybe you just got a wrong number...that would give you a "German recording". It was one of those recordings that sounded like if it was in English it would say, "this line is no longer in service" or "this number has been disconnected" Except I don't comprende German.
