Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

So, how does one who lives alone and doesn't have to plan their lives around the schedule of a kid decide when to do what?
I mean, I'm hungry and she's not here. I can go eat something can't I? And not have to be concerned whether she's getting to eat or not. Or whether she's going to come in while I'm eating and I have to split my food with her.
Wow. so many choices I have.
excuse me. i think i have to rummage in the fridge.
wonder if she's lurking right now and about to interrupt my dinner.

Macks first Harley was an FXR, with a 1200 engine. I rode it once. I was rather intimidated by the quickness that it responded with vs. my sportster. I think that is what is worrying me. I am not a speed freak:) But with some experience I would probably adjust. I just adjust at a slower speed then Mack thinks I should:). When we went to Sturgis last year I actually kept getting slower and slower the more miles I rode. Sturgis can be intimadating to the not so brave. I can't believe I let my son go up there on my Sportster in 97. I don't think I would have had I known:)
Did you by anychance see the show on Discovery Channel last night about Sturgis last year. The flood in Deadwood. We were there just minutes before that hit. We left as soon as we noticed the black clouds and lighnting building up. By the time we got back to Rapid City it was on the news what had happened, but we never saw pictures of it till last night. Pretty scary.

LOL, my son has been gone for about 5 yrs, and my daughter for about 2 yrs. Poor Mack has not had a decent meal since they left.
He says he was nothing but the spem donor and horse buyer for me:) to get what I wanted. We've been married 29 yrs.

we saw a tarantula on the road on the way home and stopped and got out to look at it. Tarantula? ~shiver~
I was driving through a local subdivision today and came across a van sitting half in the middle of the road, and people standing behind it. I slowed down and the man standing by the van kind of waved me over to the other side of the road. As I got closer I saw what they were looking at; a HUGE turtle in the middle of the road!! When I passed by later, I saw that they had gotten the turtle out of the road and had put it in someone's front yard. There was a whole gang of kids gawking at it! It was at least a foot wide!
