The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yes, they are stunning. I know what you mean about guilting into cleaning off something. Weekend before last when I went home Grama gave me a ceramic pitcher and bowl that means a lot to her. Therefore, my dining table has been clear of stacked papers for a week and a half now! Heh! now you know why the piles of junk mail were in the den floor earlier this week!

It is a win-win! I have this color too, but it only has this one bloom on it.

I have three other ones that are too sick to bloom... I've got root weevils.

Adding something pretty to the room is good inspiration!
Find the passport yet?
To: HairOfTheDog
I would have said that one is a Jean Marie...but the blotch is white not darker pink...so I don't know what that one is.

Wneighbor; a broken neck, holy cats, and you still ride? You Tejanos have strong medicine. Yes, I still ride. But, my injury wasn't near as traumatic as yours. Mine was to C4. Not as critical. And I was only walking.
Actually I don't walk slowly. I tend to do everything in either idle or high gear. I walked (okay really fast) out my back door one morning in December 1990 not realizing that the concrete porched was iced over. It was pitch dark outside and I had no outside lights so I didn't see the ice. There were 3 steps, my rear hit the ground at the bottom and the back of my neck landed at the ridge of the porch and top step. It was 2 hairline fractures and small enough to be hard for the docs to find.
Long story short, I didn't get treatment I should at first and that caused most of the problems. But, after about 3 months I was told I would be paralyzed in both arms in 2 to 5 years. A friend of mine knew a sports medicine doctor and told him about me. The guy sent word that he'd like to look at my records and me. By that time I had decided that I was depending on my God to take care of it because according to 11 other doctors there was no hope. I went to see the sports medicine doctor and that was the first thing I told him. Next thing he did was pray with me.
We got through it. He attributes it to God just as much as I do but that guy sure made all the right things happen for God to work. It's long past the 5 year mark and I only occasionally have bad pain. Like cold weather, pressure drops. When I get a crick its worse that it used to be but heck, that could happen with age anyway. I AM BLESSED over this and I know it!

The flash from the camera makes it look a bit lighter than it really is, it is more red than pink.

That fall makes me shudder.

Passport FOUND!!! Glory to God. I was having chest pressure!!! Hard to breathe. Kid could have died the day before graduation. What a tragedy. All over a lost passport. Think of the headlines! No actually what was freaking me out was that sometimes I think she is very irresponsible so I go along behind her and fix things. I didn't think it was a good idea to put the passport in the file folders because her files are overflowing. I figured it would get lost in there. So while she was searching, me knowing that I thought that was sitting here thinking "so did I go in there and take it out and put it someplace more logical? I can't think of anyplace logical right now. Where would I have put it if I had done that?"
But, of course I didn't do that. And she finally found it in the clutter of all that junk in her folder. And if she'd have listened to me in the first place it would have been easier to find....... yeah right, well, I'll stick to that story for a while anyway.

Then it might be a Jean Marie (they're a very red pink), there's a ton of them around here -- I have six of them in my yard -- but they are out in the sun so they just went "over" last week and I had to deadhead them.
To: Wneighbor
Oh I am so glad she found the passport.... would hate for her to have been murdered, and we would miss you too!
I can treat the root weevils - There is a good poison for them but I didn't notice till today that they were getting eaten.

That fall makes me shudder. LOL made me do that too!!!

I am overwhelmed by all these near death experiences today! - It is making me a bit paranoid!
Forecast says it is fixing to get windy tonight and it feels cold.... I am going to go put the horses inside tonight.
To: Wneighbor
Good evening!
We had a great day, out in the back yard with the chicks. They are in their box right now, with a little light bulb keeping them warm...they look happy and cozy.
To: g'nad
That's awesome g'nad. I sat here fahklempt reading your note. Those men must truly have considered it an honor serving with you. I know I consider it an honor just knowing you virtually, though Entmoot will rectify the virtual part. All the best to you and your family.
I'll be keeping you in my prayers this weekend, which, as you say, will be a hard one for you. Just love on that new little boy of yours and know that he and your other kids will have the distinct pleasure of having Dad around a lot during their growing up years.
To: HairOfTheDog
I try to be on a first name basis with everyone I have seen naked too. I'm really relieved that you've let us know. Was wondering. On a first name basis with your vet yesterday?

Yeah! What Wneighbor said!!
To: HairOfTheDog
Yeesh, it got up to 102 here today. And it's still May. I still am not turning my A/C on though. Maybe not till I am sure I'm going to get paid enough this summer. Seems like a wise thing to consider.
I would be more paranoid by Jen's experience of somebody walking down the hall while she's there alone than all the accidents. That one creeped me out.

They need a light bulb? I don't think they would here. Hair was just talking about a cool spell. Wish we'd get some of it tomorrow.
