Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Oh my goodness those are cute chicks!!! And the little boys aren't slouches either!;o) I hope the Jedis enjoy the heck out of those fowl creatures!!

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but do they have their wing feathers? If so that puts them at about 2wks. Baby chicks START getting wing feathers at about a week, and have total wing feathers at about 2 wks. Anyway they are cute, hope your boys have fun with them. If your raising them to be pets, I'd keep them seperate, and have each boy hold and play with the chick alot. If they have each other they will bond with each other rather then the boys. But maybe you have read stuff on how to make a chicken a pet, I'm just speculating because of the ducks we raised.

The little one has the pretty good beginnings of wing feathers, so I bet it's slightly older than a week...the bigger one has almost solid wing feathers...I bet it's slightly older than two weeks.
The older one is much more personable...likes to sit on Matthew's lap and eat feed out of his hand! I'll post a pic in a minute. The other one seems too delicate to really play with yet, but Josh can sit and hold it.
Wonder what kind they are!

I still have the typewriters I used when taught myself to type. One was my mother's little portable; one was an upright similar to the one in your picture. My daddy rescued the second one and buffed it up for me, and I would sit cross-legged in the middle of my bed and type all night long ...
