Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

have you practiced "home on the range" yet on your flute? Not yet. The cowboys in the old movies always played it on guitar....don't know if it'll sound right on flute.
I started going through clutter last weekend and got slowed down by "shredables." Didn't even make it to the estate stuff. *sigh* Guess this means no more computer components for a while....things get rather scattered when I do hardward upgrades. :)

But if you wanted, you could adopt a nice Scottish lilt for EntMoot!
Aye lassie. Tha' she could.

Thinking about pulling and braiding manes makes me crazy too..... good night!

Bay was just shod on Monday. - $$$$ down the tube! It's like havin' a kid. We just cleaned out Jrs closet last week and found a brand new pair of white sneakers we bought last year for choir tour. He never wore them.

Your picture didn't work for me, Corin.
Your accent doesn't work for me, either.

The real estate guy I had over this evening thought my accent was Ohio. Ohio? I have talked to you on the phone. You do NOT sound like you are from Ohio.

To: Corin Stormhands
Southern Ohio, perhaps? :)

Only if Columbus annexed Raleigh-Durham...
To: Corin Stormhands
I thought Raleigh and Durham were trying to annex each other. :)

You have an accent? I didn't notice. You're surrounded. You've got immunity now.

Yep. Wonder why you can't get there?
To: JenB
"Slippy" is a cool word. dare I do the uncoolest of all things and ask for a definition? I'm old enough to do that now.

Goodnite Gracie. Time for lights out.
To: Wneighbor
It means "slippery" in Pittsburghese.
I'm going to bed. See you tomorrow, which is Friday night - unofficial weekend start!

Of course it depends on my ability to keep the house neat and uncluttered for a few monthsI'd never make it. Well, after I moved out I might. But, that means you also have to leave it clean, neat and uncluttered. Who wants to do that. Use some bonus and call in a housekeeping service for one last spiff after you're gone.

Heheh...when my sister played for the New World Symphony, someone thought she had an Australian accent!
To: Wneighbor
Oh, I can still hear the accents. Even "do" them myself when I put my mind to it. When I'm talking to my relatives back home for more than 10 minutes though, my old accent tends to return. Otherwise, the Texan and the Yooper tend to cancel each other out in my voice.
Rose can do a really nice San Antonio drawl...
