The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I made coffeeeeee....

W was having coffee about the same time you posted that! Just now I had some pretzels and a couple of glasses of Glen Ellen White Zinfandel because I'm celebrating a victory over some internet VILLIANS!!

SSQ and Our #2 son, David spent over 3 hours this afternoon trying to find and ZOT a program that had worked it's way into my Registry when Joseph was searching the web the other night for Radio control buggy stuff. In looking, he must have clicked on this site called "Search the Web" with an addy that said wabu.com, and it ended up attaching itself to my files. I began getting pop ups for 'single adult' and 'swimsuit edition' files, that I DID NOT WANT! And there was a task bar at the bottom of my screen that had links to all kinds of yukky stuff that we didn't want our kids clicking on to! Every time I opened Google, there was this 'pass through' that opened these task bars.

It was very insidious. Our son was able to locate it buried deep in the Registry and exorcised it. Now it is GONE!!!

she didn't want to quit with the talking so we've sat on the couch and talked and laughed for all this time.

Doesn't that make you feel good?

Wow, that is a great accomplishment!

I'm still drinking coffee because right after I made mine, I started talking to Wneighbor on the phone and we had a nice long visit! My coffee was waiting.

If it's henna...not a permanent one.

Oh Henna definitely!!! Like I said, we had them done when we were in Montreal last year!! There were several henna artists in the Place du Jacques Cartier, and we just went down the line looking at the designs they had available. The one we settled on even copied a design that one of Clare's friends had drawn, and did it on her friend's arm. It was of the 'Gorillaz', some musical group that uses animation in its concerts. She did a great job, then took a picture of it and asked Clare's friend if she could use it as one of her designs! Emilee said yes, so everyone was happy.

The designs are all black or all rust/red color when they're done. You can use the two different colors when painting the design, and that looks neat, too. The design fades in about 3 weeks. I got mine on my lower calf, just above the ankle on the outside of my leg so it would show when I wore my capris.

Oh mercy, we're going to have a blast at Entmoot!

I'm getting SO excited about it. I looked into taking the train down, and it would cost only $254 for BOTH Clare and me! That's not bad! The trip is about 30 hrs., roughly the same as if we drove, but I certainly don't want to drive it! Mainly I wouldn't be worried about not being able to fly because of the weather! We enjoy the train; it is very relaxing.

Oh it will!! Yeah, I'm planning on a lot of pool time, myself. I'll even check out the Atlantic to see what it's like that time of year!

I'm thinking of going to see the movie tonight. It's showing at the cheap cinema...

I just checked; it's still on at our cheap cinema ($3.50 a person) Maybe Clare and I can do that this week! We've only seen it 4 times in the theater. We need to see it one more time to equal our FoTR theater viewings!
