The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

"Plain food" differs so from place to place. We'll be cooking hamburgers and steaks today, with a nice salad, green beans, and ice cream to finish off. If we weren't all low-carbing we'd have corn on the cob, potato salad, and baked beans too.

we found our henna artist

Heh... everytime someone posts about "henna" I'm reminded of a Three Stooges routine... woman comes into the Boy's dry cleaning shop...

"I'd like this dress dyed henna color."
"Henna color? You mean, henna color at all?"
"No, henna... it's sort of a brown-reddish..."
"I've never heard of a brown radish before, nyuk nyuk nyuk!"

My mom had the "Memorial Day" cookout, but we had it yesterday after church. We had steaks and hotdogs, baked beans and salad. Mmmm!

I'd get one of those tatoos in henna.

How many Hole Dwellers are firm for Entmoot again? More than nine, I guess...

Hey! I was just thinking this morning I need to do that! And I need to replace the filter in my intake vent of my AC.

I have been cleaning the carpet in my livingroom and hallway...with my mom's carpet cleaner that uses hot water, you know? We borrowed it when Matthew did the waterfall vomit off the top bunk of his bed. I figured I could just use it to do my whole house before returning it to her.

Steve's got the boys out back and they are working on the tree fort. I'm taking a break, sipping coffee. I'm stuffed.

I just had the best time out with Myranda. I took her to have breakfast. The place we went had wonderful coffee and we just sat there drinking coffee for a long time and talking. It was very very special.

Then, we came home and she didn't want to quit with the talking so we've sat on the couch and talked and laughed for all this time.

I'm trying to clean and straighten up a bit around here. I got a new belt and some bags for the vacuum cleaner. The man at the hardware store thought I was joking when I said I already had the duct tape to fix the hose. Hehehe...

disinfected Her Majesty's litter boxes and doing some more tidying. Wonder how I'm going to make that pile of old computer parts look neat.

I got to experimentin' with henna last night...Will this wash off?

The trouble is, I like a lot more color in my tattoos than this.

Well, I just wanted to discuss this care package to your son in law. I am on dialup too, and don't have another phone.

You have a nice voice! I am sure I sound like a hick.
