Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I liked that movie. It was one I bought Myranda recently and I was surprised at how good it was.

okay, How about a Superman Collector's Set. DC Comics 1993, 64-Page Adventures of Superman #500 with removable translucent cover, 8 extra story pages, 1 SkyBox "Bloodlines" Trading Card Featuring 4 new Supermen. That's all it has on the outside white plastic wrapper. The wrapper hasn't been opened and it's in a hard plastic case.
Can't see a month date or anything due to the white plastic cover.
To: Wneighbor
Guess I shoulda done that in Freepmail. But at least I didn't post your your uncles and aunts and cousins and all that.
To: Wneighbor
Yeah, we were surprised too. It was amusing and had enough violence for the violent ones, treachery for the junior Machiavellis, and a happy ending for the saps.
Not often more than four of us will like any one movie...

OK, here are the three listings for Adventures of Superman #500:
#500: ($2.95, 68 pgs.)-Collector's Edition w/card... $3.50
#500: ($2.50, 68 pgs.)-Reg. Edition w/different cover... $2.50
#500: Platinum Edition.... $30.00
The price in the parentheses refers to the cover price... If your copy has $2.95 in the upper left corner, then I think that's the one you have. I think the Platinum Edition has a fancy cover, but no trading card...
Does that help?

Yep. I got the first one you printed. $2.95.

I thought it was gonna be one of those remakes with a teenybopper flavor. It was good.

Oh, well, not likely to strike it rich, then...
You may find this amusing... when I was talking to our comic book dealer (our "connection", heh...) earlier today, I described the baseball cards you posted about earlier... I asked him what early-90's baseball cards were worth, and his response was "about the same as early-90s comics... not very much."
He explained that there was a wave of speculation buying of both comics and sports cards in the early 90s... people buying multiple copies of everything, thinking that in a few years they'd be worth a lot of money. As a result, there are now lots more copies out there on the market than are currently in demand. Hence, prices are low.
You never know when you might have something special, though... if your Adventures of Superman #500 had been the Platinum Edition for instance, it would have been worth a lot more...

I prefer the Many Worlds cosmology...
In this reality, you came home and posted... in another, you came home and chose not to post...
