Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I don't have any bad habits. Maybe I should develop some.
Actually, I'm lazy and selfish, tendencies I have to really work against sometimes. I have been exercising willpower lately and I think it's working.

Gee, I thought lazy and selfish were the normal states we were born in. Life is all about which days we overcome them and which days we don't. uhhh.. not today for me.
To: Wneighbor
Right, and tomorrow's Saturday, so it's all about laziness and selfishness. On that note, I bid you good night.
See you tomorrow!

Hi... thanks for putting us over 500 posts for the day! WOW! I wasn't here a lot of the day. Must be due to the g'nad homecoming.
How's the land search coming?
Wish I could send you some of this soup. Have over 2 quarts left. I have trouble making a little bit. And then trouble eating it all.
To: Wneighbor
When Rose makes too much soup, she freezes the extra so that we can have some later.
We got driven around for 3 hours this morning, looking at land sites. It confirmed our decision to not move. Our landlord changed his mind and decided to offer us another year's lease, so we took it. No moving, and next year we may be able to qualify for the loan to buy this house, which we wouldn't mind at all.

yep, and some of your kin might not have been too impressed with the company you keep.Well, I'm not too impressed with some of my kin, so we're even. I'd trust anybody here to watch my back if the going got tough.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Ahhh, Well, Blessings then on perhaps buying your current home! I know it's in a nice area just from the brief description of where it is.
I usually freeze excess. But, alas, my freezer is full right now in anticipation of company for Myranda's graduation next weekend. Soon as I get something out I'll put this in. My specific freezer went out a couple of years ago so it's just the one with the fridge. I miss it a lot but can't really justify getting another one for just me. I just really hate not having a stockpile of ice cream.
To: Wneighbor
Thank you!
We saw a couple of interesting homesites today... but the good ones were further out of town than we were interested in going. The sites to the east, up in Hutto, were all from farmland that had been sectioned off into lots, so no mature trees at all.
Seeing them really made our current neighborhood, with its abundant trees, well-kept lawns and neat streets, feel very comfortable. The house itself needs a good deal of work, but neither one of us was thrilled with the idea of sorting through all of our junk and getting it ready to move. So, we're just as happy to stay here I think.

Yeah. Definitely. What you said.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Well, it sounds like a good deal to me. We'll be keeping that in mind over the next year. Prayer for ya'll to get THAT house.
Maybe Rose is kind of happy too about not moving into a double-wide?
To: Wneighbor
Gotta go. I'm on dial-up and Myranda needs the phone. Back shortly. maybe.
To: Wneighbor
Well, actually, the home model we had picked out was very nice... larger than the house we're currently renting, and with a better room layout. Rose wasn't unhappy with the house itself... she was just never happy with the idea of moving. As the details involved added up, I became less and less happy with the idea myself. So, it's just as well that we're staying here, I think.
Have a good night!

Cool tractor and brush hog g'nad! - I am REALLY jealous!
All caught up on the thread I think, but wiped out..... see ya in the morning.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Sounds like to me ya'll are happier this way so that's good. I have thought that if I were to end up staying here *shudder* I might buy a couple of acres and get a double wide. I just can't deal with town too well.
To: HairOfTheDog
NIght all. I'm waiting on storms to see if I need to close my windows. They're almost here.
To: Wneighbor
You can come and stay in mine.... I don't have any storms that can kill you. errr... Unless the trees start coming down.
To: Wneighbor
Oh, home made is far better!!! Do you use cilantro?
