Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I will have farm equipment envy..... I gotta do mine by hand with the weed-wacker.
Its this dang 4-foot tall Canary grass. The horses don't eat it, and I have to keep it off the fence... it is electric tape here and it shorts out if the grass touches it. And when I cut it, the stuff at the edge of the cut falls over when it rains, so I have to cut a wide path to keep it off the fence. I have to do this about every two weeks....
All the way around the edges....
Two horses.... out there somewhere....

girlfriend, you need a tractor... or a big, strong, dumb man...

I would take either! Actually, what I would also like to do, to save wear and tear on the tractor and so that the big strong man and I have more free time, is to replace the hot tape with mesh that isn't electric. Then I wouldn't care if the grass grew up in it. This tape was supposed to be temporary, just to get me by for a year, and it's been two.

Hmm. See, after Number 1, I'd have called it quits. Your wife is made of sterner stuff!
But then, I think artificial wombs are an idea whose time has come.

And, actually, I just got a phone call that reminded me that I am supposed to go down to dinner at a friend's house tonight. So I should quit for the day and get cleaned up. Not good to go to dinner smelling like sweat and grass.

The kids were running around in the house, but we were just sitting on couches laughing and visiting! Sounds like the perfect Entmoot, as long as you add sitting around the pool and down on the beach.
Folks look at me like I'm nuts when I tell them I'm planning to come down there and bring the kids!
Rosie, I'm going to look into taking the train down there. You wanna come along with us on Amtrak?
